Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curved golf putter, easily seeing an intended line of putting. SOLUTION: A golf putter head 1 includes a face member 101 having a heel 11 and a toe 12, and a body member 201 extending backward. At least a portion of the body member is curved toward the heel of the club head. The face member preferably is angled such that the toe has a greater height than the heel. The body member may be similarly angled. The body member extends through the face member and forms at least a portion of a striking face 17 of the club head. The body member may define a hole 26 therethrough, exposing a portion of the face member underneath, which may be used as a club head alignment aid. A variety of body members may interchangeably be connected to a single face member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide multi-layer golf balls having at least three core layers, at least one cover layer, and at least one intermediate layer disposed between the core and the cover layer that acts as an improved vapor barrier. SOLUTION: This golf ball 10 is formed of: a solid core 12 constituted of a center 12, an inner core layer 12b and an outer core layer 12c; the intermediate layer 14 defined as the vapor barrier layer; and the cover 16. A hardness gradient of the solid core 12 either increases or decreases toward the intermediate layer 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-metal golf club having a composite structure with a plurality of metallic materials, wherein performance deterioration and troubles due to stripping or corrosion are prevented. SOLUTION: A golf club head 10 is provided having a body 24 made from a first metal and a face insert 12 press fitted to a portion of the body 24 and made from a second metal. The metals are chosen so that the first metal is heavier than the second metal. The second metal is disposed towards the front of the body 24. In addition, an interlocking structure is provided in the body 24 so that the face insert 12 becomes embedded in the interlocking structure to anchor the face insert to the body. Portions of the golf club head, such as the face insert 12 or sole plate 20, are anodized to protect against corrosion. The anodized coating is colored to improve aesthetic characteristics. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head by which a player easily hits a golf ball and the number of miss shots are reduced. SOLUTION: A golf club head (1) formed of multiple materials is disclosed. Those portions of the club head that are subject to high stresses during normal use of the golf club head are formed of a metallic material. Most of the material beyond what is required to maintain structural integrity, however, is removed and replaced with a lightweight material. This freed-up mass that can be redistributed to other, more beneficial locations of the club head. The lightweight material also damps vibrations generated during use of the golf club, This vibration damper may be retained in a state of compression to enhance the vibration damping. One or more light weight members (40) may be included to obtain desired center of gravity position, moments of inertia, and other club head attributes. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball of a composition that achieves desired spin performance, feeling, and reflection coefficient by applying acid copolymer. SOLUTION: The golf ball has a layer formed of a low modulus HNP composition (acid copolymer) and a layer formed of a high modulus HNP composition. For example, it has 3 layers including an inner core layer, an outer core layer and an optional intermediate core layer. It is not restricted whether which layer is formed of the low modulus HNP composition or which layer is formed of the high modulus HNP composition. The low modulus HNP composition has an acid copolymer whose modulus is highly neutralized to 1,000-50,000 psi. The high modulus HNP composition of this invention has an acid copolymer whose modulus is highly neutralized to 25,000-150,000 psi. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
