Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively provide a caller's telephone number reporting and other infor mation to a user who is visually handicapped. SOLUTION: An electric communication switch 100 announces display information such as caller's telephone number reporting and other information using a speakerphone 104 of a user terminal 102. For example, with response to an arrival signal, a switch verifies 202 and determines to perform conversion 123 when the announcement of display information is activated for the destination. When the announcement is not activated, the switch displays 204 a caller's telephone number reporting on a display 103 of the transmitter terminal. If so, the switch activates 206 the speakerphone of the destination terminal, converts 208 the telephone number reporting to voice, and notifies 210 the telephone number reporting through the speakerphone. The switch suspends 214 the report of the telephone number by receiving a signal (for example, off hook) from the terminal, also stops the speakerphone, and connects a telephone call to the terminal according to a signal. The switch activates a number of speakerphones for making effective a loudspeaker, and announces the same information through the speakerphone simultaneously.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for displaying a communication session in a virtual environment, the session executed in a server-computer system.SOLUTION: A server-computer system generates a presentation entity that allows a user who has been requested for a communication session to see and listen to. The presentation entity displays a character and an object in a virtual environment, providing information at a location within the virtual environment. Residents automated with the virtual environment interact, and captured information to a contact center, which then uses the information. A contact destination related to the interaction between the automated resident and contact center is arranged in a queue.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enabling rich collaboration by a substantially instantaneous method by coordinating a 2-D federation environment and a virtual 3-D environment.SOLUTION: This method provides a system which has a server for achieving a 2-D federated collaboration environment for participants, a server for achieving a 3-D virtual collaboration environment for the participants, and a gateway server for achieving teleportation of at least two participants of at least one set of the participants from the 2-D federated collaboration environment to form a collaboration group teleported into the 3-D virtual collaboration environment, and moderates an expanded collaboration environment for the participants.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for enabling a remote communication terminal to notify its user of the arrival of a message via an acoustic or visual signal whose properties are based on one or more attributes of the message.SOLUTION: In an illustrative embodiment, the values of one or more ringtone properties (e.g., tempo, volume, pitch, rhythm, etc.) are set based on one or more attributes of an incoming message (e.g., the sender of the message, a priority related to the message, a subject related to the message, contents of the message, the location from which the message was sent, etc.). In a similar way, properties of text strings (e.g., font size, font style, color, dynamic behavior such as flashing, etc.) and of images (e.g., brightness, size, contrast, resolution, etc.) are set based on the attributes of the message to notify the user of the incoming message.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for linking participants in a communication session. SOLUTION: According to the method, a communication device executes following steps of: (A) presenting a set of connected graphical elements on a graphical user interface (GUI) representing a structure of a communication session and a trusted relationship between a first participant and a second participant in the communication session; (B) establishing a bidirectional link between the first participant and the second participant, wherein the communication device exchanges trusted information between the first participant and the second participant; and (C) displaying the bidirectional link to the participant in the communication session. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a prescribed medium message to a first user. SOLUTION: The execution method in a computer of displaying the prescribed medium message to the first user includes: (A) a step of displaying a notice relating to a request from the first user through a graphical user interface, wherein the request requesting communication with a second user within the context of the graphical display of a communication session including the second user; (B) a step of receiving second user input specifying a prescribed action relating to the first user through the graphical user interface; and (C) a step of executing the prescribed action to the first user. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for generating a search term. SOLUTION: This method for generating the search term includes (A) a step of acquiring a text object 110 including a plurality of text items 111, (B) a step of selecting not all of the text items but only one part thereof, based on a profile, and (C) a step of passing only the selected text item, in order to generate the search data. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method for assisting a visually impaired person.SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: (a) receiving, via an address assignment module of a contactee and by a call over a telephone network, at least either a URL or a data network address of a communication device of a contactor; and (b) in response to the step (a), initiating, using at least either the URL or the data network address and by a communication device of the contactee, at least either a text-based session or a video-based session with the contactor.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting whether or not a telephone call that is being set up will be considered annoying by a called party and, if so, for preventing it from being established. SOLUTION: An illustrative embodiment predicts whether a telephone call will be considered annoying by a called party based on temporal characteristics of previous calls from the same caller. For example, when a called party receives an unwanted telephone solicitation, he or she will usually hang up within the first minute. If many telephone calls are made from the same caller and all of these calls last under a minute, then it is reasonable to predict that further calls from this caller will be considered annoying. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of determining clock synchronization in a network subjected to IP connection and including a plurality of members in a domain. SOLUTION: The method includes: (A) a step of determining a difference between arrival time of a packet received in a window and departure time of a signal to a digital signal processor; (B) a step of determining the time at which a sample of a window size is produced and the time at which the sample of the window size is received; and (C) a step of accumulating the difference; wherein the difference is used for adjusting a value of a suspension timer in at least one member.
