The present invention relates to an external urinary catheter. The present application realizes, that by replacing the traditional broad band of adhesive material with at least two bands, several advantages are obtained. As will be understood in the following , the tendency to leak is decreased, the degree of skin irritation on the penis is decreased and the adhesive characteristic can be improved.

An ostomy appliance (2) which is adapted to automatically open a passage when exposed to waste material. The ostomy appliance comprises a collecting bag (4) having a front wall (6) and a rear wall (40), the rear wall (40) having an opening (30) into the bag (4) through which waste material may enter the collecting bag (4), and wherein at least one of the walls comprises at least one passage zone (14) adapted to change from a closed state to an open state, when exposed to the waste material. The opening (30) may be used to open passages into a filter (8) at different times or to open a corn partment so as to provide further room for waste material or to show a colour provided behind a wall which is dissolved or decomposed.

The invention relates to use of at least one of the compounds EPI-HNE 1, EPI-HNE 2, EPI-HNE 3 or EPI-HNE 4 for manufacture of a medicament for treatment of chronic wounds or burns. The EPI-HNE 1-4 compounds are e.g. suitable for incorporation into a wound care device, such as a dressing.

Retaining means (10a, 10b) for retaining the valve element are integral with the device. The connecting portion includes engagement means formed integrally with the valve element for engagement with the retaining means, the valve element projecting a coherent plane.

The present invention provides a method for the preparation of a cross-linked hydrophilic coating of a hydrophilic polymer on a substrate polymer surface of a medical device, involving the use of a polymer solution comprising 1-20% by weight of a hydrophilic polymer, 0-5% by weight of additive(s), and the balance of a vehicle with plasticizing effect on the hydrophilic polymer, wherein the vehicle comprises at least one plasticizer having a solubility in water of at least 6 g/L, a boiling point above 210°C at 760 mmHg, and Hansen δ H parameter of less than 20. Furthermore, the invention provides a medical device, e.g. a catheter or guide wire, provided with such a hydrophilic coating. The invention also provides the use of specific polymer solution for the preparation of a cross-linked hydrophilic coating.

The collecting bag has a bag member (2) formed by a first and a second film blank (2, 3) , and a discharge portion (8) that is foldable and unfoldable to bring the discharge portion from an open unfolded condition to a closed folded condition and vice versa. A first plate member (21) is positioned on the first film blank (2) and a second plate member (22) is positioned on an extension (3a) of the second film blank (3) . A locking device is provided at the discharge portion for locking the bag in the closed folded condition of the discharge portion. Each plate member (21,22) is formed from a relatively stiff material, and the distance (d) between the distal edge (21b) of the first plate member (21) and the proximal edge (22a) of the second plate member (22) is smaller than the thickness of the first plate member.

A pair of scissors has two elements that are cross-wise rotationally movably assembled in a hinge, each of said elements consisting of a blade and an arm. The arms each terminate in a ring for a user's finger.
