An apparatus for measuring ganglion cells may include: a light generation unit configured to irradiate a first light signal polarized in a first direction and a second light signal polarized in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction to a subject; a reflected light processing unit configured to generate an amplification signal corresponding to an image of the subject using a first reflection signal, which is the first light signal reflected from the subject, and a second reflection signal, which is the second light signal reflected from the subject; and an image processing unit configured to measure ganglion cells in the subject using the amplification signal. The apparatus may be used to count the number of normal ganglion cells in the retina by measuring a phase difference of two lights polarized in different directions. The apparatus may also be used to monitor the progress of glaucoma.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a first pixel, a digitization unit, and a correction unit. The first pixel includes a first photoelectric conversion layer for outputting a first electrical signal in response to received incident light, including light of a first color, light of a second color, and light of a third color; and a second photoelectric conversion layer disposed under the first photoelectric conversion layer and for outputting a second electrical signal in response to light transmitted through the first photoelectric conversion layer. The digitization unit generates first original data by digitizing the first electrical signal and generates second original data by digitizing the second electrical signal. The correction unit generates first corrected data corresponding to the light of the first color and second corrected data corresponding to the light of the second color, by respectively correcting the first original data and the second original data.

Disclosed is a check valve of a hydraulic brake system. The check valve includes a valve housing which includes a tapered front end having a smaller diameter than a middle end, the cylindrical middle end extending from the front end by a predetermined length to allow the ball and spring to be accommodated within the middle end, a rear end stepped from the middle end to have a greater diameter than the middle end, and a flange circumferentially bent from the rear end to have a greater diameter than the rear end, and a valve seat having an outer diameter equal to an inner diameter of the rear end so as to be press-fitted into the rear end of the valve housing. The check valve having a simplified configuration achieves size and weight reduction and is manufactured at low cost and high processing efficiency using pressing.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing a transformed Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) which reacts to glucose by exhibiting fluorescence, and to a method for screening for a candidate substance and for a novel gene capable of regulating glucose metabolism and metabolic diseases using the transformed Caenorhabditis elegans. The transformed Caenorhabditis elegans of the present invention is prepared such that changes in glucose may be easily observed on a real-time basis using a fluorescent microscope. The transformed Caenorhabditis elegans of the present invention enables substances for regulating glucose metabolism to be quickly and accurately discovered, and further, may be expected to significantly contribute to studies on a variety of incurable metabolism-related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and the like.
