Abstract: Flexible, opaque polyamides with good resistance to ageing contg. plasticisers, pigments, flame proofing agents, stabilisers, lubricants or mould release agents, are obtained without the use of mixers and special extruders by polymerising lactams with >=6C in the ring pref. 10C in two steps. The first step consisting of ring opening and partial polymerisation is carried out above 270 degrees C pref. 280-320 degrees C. The temp. is reduced to below 270 degrees C and the mentioned additives added and polymerisation completed as the 2nd step below 270 degrees C. Polymerisation is carried out in presence of mineral or organic acids.
