Abstract: A wireless communication method and apparatus are provided for selecting quality-reporting sub-carriers based on sub-carrier quantity information received from a base station. The method comprises: acquiring information indicating a number of sub-carriers; measuring channel quality of each of a plurality of sub-carriers within a communication band from a received signal; selecting sub-carriers satisfying a condition related to measured channel quality bands from the plurality of sub-carriers, wherein quantity of the selected sub-carriers corresponds to the quantity of sub-carriers indicated by the acquired information; and transmitting information indicating channel quality of the selected sub-carriers.

Abstract: A data packet comprises a header and a payload. At least one digital signal processor is used to configure the payload to transport at least one full service data unit, one or two service data unit fragments, or at least one full service data unit and at least one service data unit fragment. A service data unit fragment is only located (i) at the beginning of the payload or at the end of the payload or (ii) at the beginning of the payload and at the end of the payload. At least one digital signal processor is used to configure a single field in the header consisting of a first bit and a second bit, even when a number of full service data units and service data unit fragments in the payload is more than two, the single field indicating whether (i) the payload begins with a fragment of a service data unit and (ii) the payload ends with a service data unit fragment. At least one digital signal processor is used to form the data packet including the configured header and the configured payload. A transmitter transmits the data packet.

Abstract: A terminal apparatus and retransmission control method reduces overhead of the uplink control channel in cases when ARQ is applied in communication that uses an uplink unit band and a plurality of downlink unit bands associated with the uplink unit band. A first condition is set in which downlink assignment control information is transmitted from a base station by a unit band group which comprises a basic unit band, which is the downlink unit band on which a broadcast channel signal including information relating to the uplink unit band is transmitted, and a second downlink unit band other than the basic unit band. A bundling unit will not transmit a response signal to the base station in certain cases.

Abstract: A PDCP status report can be transmitted with reduced radio resources by transmitting the reception success or failure of a series of PDCP service data units (SDUs) in the form of a bitmap when configuring the PDCP status report. A PDCP control packet data unit (PDU) is generated to communicate a status report to a transmitting node for one or more PDCP SDUs transmitted from the transmitting node. The PDCP control PDU includes a data/control (D/C) bit field to indicate the PDCP control PDU is a control PDU, a control PDU type field to indicate a type of corresponding control information, a sequence number field to indicate a first missing PDCP SDU, and a bitmap field for a variable length bitmap. A bit in the variable length bitmap indicates whether a corresponding one of the one or more PDCP SDUs has been successfully been received.

Abstract: A method is provided in a receiving node for handling status information of data units transmitted from a sending node to the receiving node over a radio link. The receiving node establishes that a number of data units that has been transmitted by the sending node are missing. The receiving node sends a reduced status message to the sending node over the radio link, which message is reduced such that it comprises the negative acknowledgement for a first part of missing data units and omits negative acknowledgements for the rest of the missing data units. The omitted negative acknowledgement for the rest of the missing data units will not erroneously be interpreted as correctly received data units by the sending node.

Abstract: A communication terminal adjusts the transmission timing of data transmitted to a base station so that the base station can receive the data within a predetermined delay time. The communication terminal includes a reception section for receiving priority of MAC control information transmitted from the base station, a priority control section for defining the relationship between the priority of the MAC control information and priority assigned to DRB and SRB, and a transmission message generation section for controlling so as to transmit information having a high priority early in accordance with the relationship between the priorities defined by the priority control section. According to the communication terminal, a comparison is made between the priority of the MAC control information and the priority assigned to the DRB and the SRB, whereby it is made possible to control what information is to be transmitted as desired.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) receives downlink data using resource blocks in a wireless mobile communication system. The UE receives downlink control information including resource allocation information and downlink data mapped to physical resource blocks (PRBs) based on the downlink control information. The resource allocation information indicates virtual resource block (VRB) allocations for the UE. A resource block pair includes a first resource block associated with a first time slot and a second resource block associated with a second time slot adjacent to the first time slot. The first and second resource blocks are allocated to the same frequency indices. A mapping between VRB pairs and PRB pairs exists such that frequency consecutive VRB pairs are mapped to non-frequency consecutive PRB pairs and that each resource block pair is split so there is a frequency gap between the first and second parts of the resource block pair.
