Abstract:
A plug locking assembly comprises a housing comprising a top surface, a bottom surface and opposing sidewalls defining an open space therebetween, the open space for receiving and carrying a plug comprising a spring member. The plug locking assembly is adapted to prevent unwanted access to modular plugs engaged in associated jacks. In one embodiment, the plug locking assembly comprises a plug protection member comprising a surface spaced apart from the open space and positioned to overlie at least a portion of the spring member with the plug engaged within the housing. The plug locking assembly may further comprise a locking clip releasably securable within the housing.
Abstract:
A tool for installing a metal locking tie is disclosed. The tool includes a tension mechanism and a ball set and cut-off mechanism. The tension mechanism tensions the metal locking tie (200) wrapped around a bundle. The ball set and cut-off mechanism includes a guide block (158) and a shear block (15S) that engages the guide block. Once the tool tensions the metal locking tie, the guide block and the shear block travel forward in the tool thereby setting a ball (204) in a metal locking tie head (202 and shearing a portion of the tensioned metal locking tie.

Abstract:
Systems and methods of the present invention employ helically corrugated jackets to enhance communication cable alien crosstalk characteristics. A data cable may be newly constructed with an improved helically corrugated jacket.
Abstract:
A communications connector with a flexible printed circuit board is provided. The flexible printed circuit board is electronically and mechanically connected to the plug interface contacts of the jack near the plug/jack interface, in order to provide effective crosstalk compensation. The flexible printed circuit board has fingers at one end allowing it to flex as individual plug interface contacts are depressed when a plug is installed into the jack. A second end of the flexible printed circuit board has through holes for accepting insulation displacement contacts. The second end of the flexible printed circuit board may be rigidly supported, to allow insertion of the insulation displacement contacts. Various designs for capacitive and/or inductive couplings are provided, resulting in improved crosstalk performance.
Abstract:
A material cutter for producing a selected cutting profile. The material cutter includes a cutter frame and a cutter button (12). The cutter frame has a stationary blade (132). The cutter button, which is slidably mounted in the cutter frame, has a moving blade (120) with a cutting edge. The cutter button preferably includes a profile selector (102), so that when a driving force is applied to the cutter button, the moving blade slides past the stationary blade to the extent allowed by the profile selector. The profile selector may be a knob and the cutting profile may be set manually or automatically. It is preferred that at least one of the selectable cutting profiles is a partial cut.
Abstract:
A powered communications patch panel is adapted to power network devices connected to the communications patch panel. Power is supplied to the network devices by the powered communications patch panel over the communication cabling. The powered communications patch panel may be provided with a management port to allow remote management of the patch panel via a network connection. Multiple management ports may be provided, allowing patch panels to be connected to one another in a daisy-chain configuration.
