    Abstract: A method of controlling one or more locomotives in a train includes using a machine learning engine and a virtual system modeling engine to model and classify sections of track along which the train is traveling according to the tractive power needs for the train traversing each section of track as a function of an effective weight profile for the train in the section and an effective friction profile for the train in the section of track. The method includes using the results of the effective weight profile, the effective friction profile, and an effective power availability profile to train the virtual system modeling engine using the machine learning engine to model designated areas of the track where the total tractive effort force or dynamic braking force applied by all of the locomotives in the train is less than a tractive effort force or dynamic braking force, respectively, that can be provided by a subset of the available locomotives in the train.

    Abstract: A shuttle valve for a control valve coupled to an electronic fuel injector is disclosed.     Abstract: A train control system enables rapid, reliable, and verifiable association of a mobile component carried by an operator with at least one of a device, feature, or short range transceiver located on one or more locomotives of one or more consists in a train. The train control system may include a mobile component configured to be carried by an operator from one of the locomotives to another in the one or more consists. The at least one of a device, feature, or short range transceiver and the mobile component may be configured to communicate with each other wirelessly when brought within a threshold distance or less from each other. The mobile component may be configured to exchange a unique identifier with each locomotive automatically or upon an action of the operator when the operator brings the mobile component to within the threshold distance or less of each of the one or more locomotives. The train control system may be configured to limit communication of wireless control commands or diagnostic information from a lead locomotive such that the commands or diagnostic information are communicated only to others of the one or more locomotives that have been verifiably identified as being associated with the lead locomotive by exchange of the unique identifier with the mobile component carried by the operator.

    Abstract: A fastening system for track rail includes a track rail fastener positionable upon a pedestal mount, and including a top plate, a frame, and an overmolded jacket. The system further includes a lateral positioner having an eccentric structured to contact a pedestal mount, and a locating pin extending through the fastener body and the eccentric to couple a lateral location of the fastener body to an angular orientation of the eccentric, such that rotating the eccentric varies a lateral location of the fastener body. A frame in the fastener body includes a plurality of vertically extending finger walls for lateral and rotational stability, with the overmolded jacket extending between the finger walls and the top plate.
