Abstract:
Described herein are processes ( and related devices) for capturing and/or reproducing multimedia contents, comprising, in the capturing stage, the steps of: acquiring a multimedia content in the form of a generally time-variable multimedia stream through video acquisition means and possibly also audio acquisition means; acquiring data related to the capturing conditions of the multimedia content (capture parameters) through dynamic monitoring means for monitoring said conditions: storing values dependent on said generally time-variable capture parameters into predetermined areas of the multimedia file associated with the captured multimedia content in the form of dynamic metadata for acquiring the multimedia content; and/or comprising, in the reproduction stage, the steps of: reading from a memory at least said multimedia file comprising at least one multimedia content: reading data related to the capturing conditions of the multimedia content (capture parameters) in the form of at least one dynamic metadatum associated with the multimedia content of the multimedia file, and dynamically modifying the modes of reproduction of the multimedia stream corresponding to the multimedia file according to the values of at least said dynamic metadatum associated with the multimedia content.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for superimposing images on three- dimensional content, wherein a video stream is received which comprises the three- dimensional content and a depth map for superimposing images on the three- dimensional content. Once the video stream has been received, images are superimposed on the three-dimensional content in a position in depth dependent on the superimposition depth map (DM). The superimposition depth map contains information about the depth of the three-dimensional content and is inserted as an image contained in a frame (C) of the video stream. The depth map has a smaller number of pixels than that of a two-dimensional image associated with the three-dimensional content. The invention also relates to devices enabling the implementation of said methods.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for displaying a video stream according to a format defined by a user, wherein a graphic element is superimposed on the displayed video stream, and wherein the dimensions and/or position of the graphic element are modified as a function of commands received from the user, so as to define a screen area in which a certain portion of the frames of the video stream is displayed. The video stream is then displayed in a format wherein, for each frame, the frame portion defined by the graphic element is displayed with altered dimensions and/or position on the screen.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for generating a digital stereoscopic video stream (101) comprising container frames (C), said container frames (C) comprising information about a right image (R) and a left image (L), wherein, when coding said digital stereoscopic video stream (101), at least one metadatum (M) is entered which is adapted to identify a region of a container frame (C) containing only one of said two images (L,R).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to digital video content production, distribution and display systems. It describes a method for transporting data within a digital video stream, wherein said digital video stream comprises information and/or application data not intended for display and at least one frame comprising an image to be displayed, and wherein said at least one frame comprises a number of pixels which is greater than the number of pixels of said image. The method provides for entering said information and/or application data into pixels of said frame which are not occupied by said image. The invention also relates to a method for playing a video stream that carries information and/or application data within its frames.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for generating a stereoscopic video stream (101) comprising composite images (C) which comprise information about a right image (R) and a left image (L). According to the method, pixels are selected from the right image (R) and from the left image (L), and then the selected pixels are entered into a composite image (C) of the stereoscopic video stream. The method also provides for entering all the pixels of the right image (R) and all the pixels of the left image (L) into the composite image (C) by leaving one of said two images unchanged and breaking up the other one into regions (Rl, R2, R3) comprising a plurality of pixels. Said regions are subsequently entered into the composite image (C). The invention also relates to a method for reconstructing the right and left images starting from a composite image, as well as to devices allowing said methods to be implemented.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for image segmentation, which comprises a pre-segmentation phase (P1), wherein a set of points of said image is selected, a morphological expansion phase (P3), wherein the set of points selected during the pre-segmentation phase (P1) is expanded by taking into account the spatial distribution of the points of the selected set in the image, a graph generation phase (SP41), wherein a graph (GR) is generated on the basis of the image and the selected set of points, a graph partitioning phase (SP42), wherein a set of nodes of the graph (GR) is selected on the basis of the characteristics of said graph (GR) and the points corresponding to the selected nodes are added to the selected set of points.
