    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for hydrothermal carbonisation of biomass containing organic matter, the method comprising: —injecting the biomass, a heat transfer fluid and a reagent into a reactor (1), —circulating a mixture consisting of the biomass, the heat transfer fluid and the reagent under specific pressure and temperature conditions for transforming the organic matter by hydrothermal carbonisation. The invention consists in: 1) determining the production rate of the emitted gas Te during the hydrothermal carbonisation reaction; 2) comparing the determined production rate of the emitted gas Te with a predefined value for the set gas production rate Tc, and 3) adjusting at least one of the reaction control parameters chosen from among the temperature within the reactor (1), the quantity of injected reactant, and the residence time in the reactor in order to adjust the production rate of the emitted gas Te, such that the value of said production rate of the emitted gas Te tends to be equal to the value of the set gas production rate Tc. The invention is applicable to treatment of biomass containing organic matter.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for the gravitational separation of the first and second liquid phases of a two phase liquid containing predominantly a continuous first liquid phase with a dispersed second liquid phase having a lower specific gravity than the first liquid. The apparatus comprises a tank defining an interior chamber. A feed inlet introduces the two 5 phase liquid into the lower portion of the chamber. The upper portion of the chamber has an upward flow zone through which the two phase liquid rises, with the dispersed second liquid rising more than the first liquid and being separated therefrom due to the second liquid's lower specific gravity. The second liquid forms a floating layer and a conduit directs separated second liquid from the floating layer to a second liquid outlet.

    Abstract: A computerized process for controlling an air purification system comprises a bioreactor in particular, the system may include a photobioreactor for treating urban air, in particular for CO2 removal. The system may be connected to the sanitation network and/or to a (drinking and/or municipal) water supply network. The connection and the drainage system may in particular maintain a fluidic isolation between the two types of networks. The system may optionally be equipped with measurement sensors and/or actuators that make it possible to control the internal activity of the bioreactor. Various control modes of a grid of bioreactors are described. Data on the status of the connected networks (e.g. water, sanitation, cooling, heating networks) contribute to the control of a network of geolocalized bioreactors. The software aspects are described. The supervision of the grid of bioreactors may in particular be carried out remotely via onboard communication devices.
