Abstract: A mobile device-to-HTTP protocol gateway (MHG, or “MO Gateway”) which translates between Wireless Mobile Originated commands from an SMSC, and an application server on the Internet (i.e., a “web IP Server”). A wireless Internet gateway establishes communications with one or more relevant SMSCs using standard format SMPP commands, and the MHG utilizes HTTP protocol POST messages to post short messages originated at the mobile device to a particular URL. Return results are received by the MHG via HTTP protocol messages, translated to SMPP messages, and forwarded back to the SMSC for delivery to the mobile device. The wireless Internet Gateway communicates with the MHG using RMI protocol commands. An MHG in accordance with the principles of the present invention enables a developer to create mobile applications using standard web development tools, e.g., Java Servlets. The MHG allows standard format command messages to be used throughout the pathway between a mobile device and an application program on a web IP server at a particular URL.

Abstract: Internet Relay Chat is provided for mobile devices utilizing a mobile chat proxy server. The server exchanges message objects with a wireless Internet gateway using an IRC protocol. The server maintains a real-time proxy connection to a conventional IRC server for each mobile device. The proxy server interprets messages and determines whether to forward them to the conventional IRC server. The proxy server utilizes an RMI interface between the mobile chat proxy server and the wireless Internet gateway for sending messages to chat group participants. The proxy server also provides such enhancements as notification and/or summons commands, and allows mobile users to chat simultaneously. An SMSC forwards messages to the mobile chat proxy server and proxy server configures and validates users. After validating a mobile user, the mobile chat proxy server forwards IRC traffic from the mobile device to the conventional IRC server.

Abstract: An integrated, detachable ear bud system that is attached to an associated wireless phone. The integrated, detachable ear bud system may be one ear bud, or pair of ear buds, or ear bud or ear buds including a microphone. In certain embodiments an integrated, detachable, attached auditory device is physically connected to its associated wireless phone via an extendable and retractable electrical cord, and integrated into the case of the associated wireless phone, to forcibly keep with the wireless phone even when not in use, preventing misplacement, loss, or even inadvertent separation from the wireless device. The ear buds may connect to a recharge port on the wireless phone, and be charged when the wireless phone is charging. When in its attached home position, the ear-mountable speaker may tuck into a mating cavity. A latch or magnet may assist in attaching the integrated, detachable ear bud to the wireless phone.

Either during the initial call or communication, or shortly thereafter, the receiving party uses the TempENUM number to return communication the initial caller.

El activador LBS puede ser iniciado cuando se mueve el usuario, y puede incluir velocidad del usuario para definir un área próxima dentro de la cual, al llegar, se presentará el dispositivo del usuario con información de ubicación relevante. El tamaño del área próxima puede basarse en memoria disponible en el dispositivo inalámbrico, y/o en limitaciones de ancho de banda de la red. Si camina, se define una menor área próxima, o si se mueve rápido, el área de proximidad inmediata es mayor. Los puntos de información basados en ubicación se almacenan localmente en el dispositivo del usuario, y se presentan al usuario cuando éste se aproxima cercanamente al punto de información relevante.
