PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cassette for gel electrophoresis with a simple structure and low-cost. SOLUTION: The disclosed cassette 33 for gel electrophoresis includes two plates 34 and 35, and at least one seal 36 for separating the plates. The seal 36 is ring shaped and positioned at an end area outside of the plates 34 and 35. To perform electrophoresis in a secondary dimension after isoelectric electrophoresis in a first dimension, one of the plates 34 and 35 includes a recess 37 for receiving a fragmentary holder 1 having a base plate 4 provided with a carrier surface layer 2 holding an IEF piece 3. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a need for a plurality of robots or grasping devices for transporting gel. SOLUTION: A stripholder (1) includes a base plate (4), at least one stopper (5) for offsetting a carrier surface (2) to a lower level, and at least one sealing surface (6). The stopper is applied to a counter surface (7) of the chamber. Offsetting lower level by the stopper determines a depth of a holder (1) for guiding gel (3) to the chamber. The sealing surface (6) securely seals the holder (1) being installed. The chamber (15) for isoelectrically focusing molecules of the gel (3) includes the holder (1), a frame (16) and a cover (20). Another chamber of a cassette (33) includes at least one seal (36) for separating two plates (34, 35) and a plate so as to perform electrophoresis in a secondary dimension after isoelectric focusing. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for minimizing the amount of a specimen solution to be used and improving a distribution related to samples fixed to a substrate surface. SOLUTION: The device 1 provides a hybridization chamber 2 for hybridizing nucleic acid samples, proteins, or tissue sections on a slide 3, is movable in relation to the slide 3, and is provided with an annular sealing surface 4 sealing the hybridization chamber 2, by being applied to a surface 5 of the slide 3, lines 6 for supplying and/or removing media to and/or from the hybridization chamber 2, and a specimen supply line 7. The device is provided with a media- separating agitation device 8 for moving liquids in relation to samples immobilized on the surface 5 of the slide 3. Furthermore, process units 18 for hybridizing nucleic acid samples, proteins, or tissue sections and corresponding automatable systems including such process units 18 are disclosed.
