Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for controlling reverse TX power in a mobile terminal. The apparatus includes a closed-loop power controller for limiting a TX power increase due to a power control bit of an RX signal by using a power-up limit bit and outputting a closed-loop power control value for decreasing the TX power when a TX power limit mode is selected, an adder for calculating a TX power by adding the closed-loop power control value and an open-loop power set using a power of the RX signal, and a maximum TX power limiter for setting a final TX power by subtracting a maximum TX power limit reference value determined according to an RX signal strength in the mobile terminal from the calculated TX power. Accordingly, it is possible to extend a call duration while accepting a rather poor call quality.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An AGC(Automatic Gain Control) device of a mobile communication system receiver is provided to maintain an AGC voltage applied to an AGC amplifier as a previous voltage when a receiving signal is instantly reduced under fading channel, thereby preventing noise from being unnecessarily amplified. CONSTITUTION: A signal of a necessary channel only is filtered. The filtered signal is inputted to an AGC amplifier(113) to be outputted as a certain level signal. An output signal of the AGC amplifier(113) is inputted to a demodulator(115), while a demodulated receiving signal of the demodulator(115) is inputted to a signal reproducer(125) through a baseband filter 1(301) and a baseband filter 2(303). An output signal of the baseband filter 1(301) is inputted to the baseband filter 2(303) while being inputted to a level detector 1(305) to calculate a power level. The calculated power level is inputted to a comparator(309), and is compared with an output value of a level detector 2(307). The baseband filter 1(301) filters a wider band of signal than a substantial signal band, while the baseband filter 2(303) filters a narrow band of signal like the substantial signal band.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A PLL(Phase Locked Loop) of a mobile communication terminal is provided to control comparison frequencies according to each output frequency, thereby making phase noise characteristics of a local oscillator better and improving noise characteristics of a receiver. The second divider(111) divides the output frequency to output the frequency to the phase comparator(105). A PLL data generating unit(120) is composed of many PLL data generators(121,123,125) for controlling dividing ratios of the first and the second divider(103,111). A central processing unit(200) selects a specific PLL data generator according to the output frequency to drive the generator.
