PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling the transmission of a status report in a mobile communication system are provided to prevent the unnecessary status report from being transmitted. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the transmission of a status report in a mobile communication system is composed of the steps of driving a re-ordering timer according to the receiving of a packet data unit and triggering the status report(505), generating the status report about the received data(515) or renewing the already generated status report to be proper to the present status(525) after the status prohibit timer is finished if the status prohibit timer is operated, judging the receiving of the loss packet data unit causing the driving of the re-ordering timer(530), and canceling the transmission of the status report if the loss packet data unit was already received(535).

본 발명은 이동통신 시스템에서 패킷 송수신의 일련번호를 할당하는 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 송신측이 초기 전송되는 패킷에 대응하여 상기 패킷의 일련번호를 표현하기 위한 정해진 길이의 비트들 중에서 패킷들을 상호 구별하기 위한 최소 길이의 마지막 비트들을 사용하여 단축 일련번호를 할당하고 상기 단축 일련번호의 사용을 지시하기 위한 플래그 정보를 포함하는 헤더를 할당하고, 상기 헤더를 포함하는 상기 패킷을 수신측으로 전송한다.

본 발명은 이동통신 시스템에서 무선 연결 설정 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 단말이 이동성 정보를 네트워크에 통지하고, 네트워크가 상기 단말의 이동성 정보에 따라서 최적화된 프로시져들만을 수행하도록 한다. 이와 같이 하면 단말기의 복잡성과 전력낭비를 줄일 수 있으며 네트워크의 시그널링 오버헤드를 줄임으로써 효율적으로 자원을 사용할 수 있다. Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for selecting and re-selecting the network of a terminal in a cellular communication system are provided to prevent the repeated change of the networks by stipulating the radio quality standards. UE-AS reports UE-NAS that a service is not recovered in a PLMN(501). When it requested that UE-NAS indicates PLMNs usable UE, UE-NAS provides the PLMN identifying information of the PLMN to which UE has to avoid to return(503). When finding PLMNs having the PLMN identifying information or one identical to the PLMNs, UE obtains ping-pong avoidance control parameters from the cell(505). If ping-pong avoidance conditions are not satisfied, UE-AS reports one among usable PLMNs(507).

A system and a method for reducing the size of an initial uplink message in a mobile communication system are provided to check the ID of a TA not to perform the signaling of a corresponding ID value, thereby satisfying the transmission conditions of a limited size of the initial uplink message and improving the efficiency of radio resources. A method for reducing the size of an initial uplink message comprises the following steps of: constructing the initial uplink message by omitting at least one out of ID(Identification) indicating a PLMN(Public Land Mobile Network) and ID indicating a TA(Tracking Area) in the initial uplink message(330~340); and transceiving the constructed initial uplink message(345,350).

A method for transmitting a voice packet state by a terminal in a mobile communication system and a device are provided to enable a UE(User Equipment) to determine a state of a voice packet in the communication system which supports a voice packet service, and to report information regardless of the determined state to a scheduler, thereby efficiently using limited transmission resources. A controller(1430) compares at least one reference distinguished to have different packet sizes and different periods with size of a voice packet stored in a transmission buffer, and determines a state of the voice packet. A state transition indicator generator(1435) configures and transmits information indicative of a changed state of the voice packet under control of the controller. A grant channel processor(1440) controls so that the voice packet of the transmission buffer is transmitted through transmission resources allocated from a node B according to the information.

A method for sending a voice packet state by a terminal in a mobile communication system and a device are provided to enable a UE(User Equipment) to transmit information on state alteration to a node B by using reference sizes defined according to a mode of a CODEC(Coder Decoder) and size of a VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) packet, thereby simplifying signaling between systems in accordance with VoIP packet transmission. A state of a voice packet to be transmitted is determined by using at least more than one reference defined according to a mode of a CODEC of a UE(410)(420,425). If a state of the current voice packet to be transmitted is different from the determined state of the voice packet, information indicative of a changed state of the voice packet is transmitted to a scheduler of a node B(415)(430,435). Transmission resources corresponding to the information are allocated from the scheduler, and the voice packet is transmitted(440,445).

A buffer state reporting method of a terminal in a mobile communication system and a device are provided to transmit a report about a buffer state by including buffer state elements distinguished by a case before transmission resources are allocated and a case after the transmission resources are allocated, thereby efficiently reporting a buffer state. The first buffer state report is configured by including buffer state elements for at least more than one buffer having high priority among at least more than one of buffers for storing data according to at least one service(510). The first buffer state report is transmitted to a node B(507) through a shared channel(515). Transmission resources for considering the first buffer state report are allocated from the node B(507)(520). Uplink data and the second buffer state report including buffer state elements for the rest of the buffers except the at least more than one buffer having the high priority are transmitted to the node B(507) through the allocated transmission resources(525).
