PURPOSE: A beam tracking method and an apparatus in a wireless communication system are provided to efficiently select a transceiver beam pattern in the wireless communication system, by defining the index retransmission procedure corresponding to the transceiver beam pattern. CONSTITUTION: A base station repetitively transmits the down link reference signal N times in order to select one or more of the optimized down link transceiver beam through the terminal(100). The down link reference signal can be a signal measuring quality of signals such as a synchronizing signal, a preamble signal, and a pilot signal. The terminal measures P number of the optimized down link transceiver beam pair through the down link reference signal. The terminal transmits an up link reference signal which includes P number of the optimized down link transmission beam index information to the base station, M times repetitively(102).

PURPOSE: A synchronization acquisition method and apparatus thereof are provided to reduce interference between the terminals which receive services from an infrastructure of a neighbor area and a terminal in an environment where the infrastructure is not operated. CONSTITUTION: When a transmission unit(404) does not receive a preamble signal from a BS(base station), the BS transmits the first preamble signal to a synchronization point. A control unit(402) synchronizes with one or more neighbor terminals by using the first preamble signal. The control unit communicates with the one or more neighbor terminals. The first preamble signal implicitly indicates a result which the BS is collapsed. The first preamble signal is transmitted to a point which is the same as a preamble transmission point of the BS. PURPOSE: An initial connection method for a communication service and an apparatus thereof are provided to increase the number of terminals for initial connection at the same point. CONSTITUTION: A controlling unit(305) recognizes that an IN terminal exists. The controlling unit confirms whether a service of a terminal is a machine-to-machine communication service. In case the terminal supplies the machine-to-machine communication service, the terminal sets up an indicator. The indicator indicates whether to use RP(Ranging Preamble) code division information. A transmitting unit(320) transmits the IN related control information to the terminal.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for supporting a complex automatic repeat request are provided to transmit a message which supports an established terminal and a new terminal by distinguishing the new terminal according to the type of a ranging code. CONSTITUTION: An established terminal, a new terminal A, and a new terminal B receive a broadcast message from a base station(201). The established terminal transmits a ranging request message or a band request-header(207). The new terminal A and the new terminal B selectively transmit a ranging code(209,211). The base station assigns upward link resources by transmitting HARQ_CDMA_Allocation_IE which includes HARQ(Hybrid Automatic Repeat request) related information(213). The new terminal A and the new terminal B transmit the ranging request message or the band request-header(215,217). PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for hybrid automatic repeat request are provided to minimize overhead by supporting a terminal which supports the hybrid automatic repeat request and a terminal which does not support the hybrid automatic repeat request the same time. CONSTITUTION: A terminal transmits an arbitrary ranging code to a base station(107). The base station assigns downward link resource by transmitting CDMA_Allocation_IE and Extended_CDMA_Allocation_IE to the terminal(109,111). The terminal transmits a ranging message and a resource request message(115). An apparatus and a method for composing a diversity sub channel in a wireless communication system are provided to divide resources by a small resource unit and compose a diversity channel by tone unit permutation and the small resource unit, thereby configuring a diversity channel for a diversity gain. A resource allocator(2123) assigns resources for a diversity sub channel. A diversity sub channel configuring unit(2125) performs permutation of a resource allocation unit about the assigned resources to compose a diversity sub channel of the resource allocation unit. The diversity sub channel configuring unit performs tone unit permutation about the diversity sub channel of a tone unit among resources to which the permutation is applied to compose the diversity sub channel of a tone unit.

A common control information transceiving method in a communication system and a system therefor are provided to transceive common control information, thereby defining various solutions in preparation for a case when a mobile WIMAX(World Interoperability for Microwave Access) communication system and a mobile WIMAX evolution communication system coexist. A frame(200) is divided into an UL(Uplink) subframe(230) and a DL(Downlink) subframe(210). Each of the subframes includes a resource allocation area for the first communication system and a resource allocation area for the second communication system. The first and second communication systems are different from each other. Common control information that a mobile station belonging to the second communication system will receive is configured. The configured common control information is transmitted through the resource allocation area for the second communication system included in one of the subframes.

A common control information transceiving method in a communication system and a system thereof are provided to offer common control information which reduces a signaling overhead, when a coexistence mode where an existing communication system and an advanced communication system coexist and a single mode where the existing system only exists are mixed together. A mobile station obtains synchronization by receiving a preamble, and recognizes a BCH(Broadcasting Channel) area(401). The mobile station decodes common control information included in the BCH area(403). The mobile station recognizes a location of a downlink data burst area of the second communication system according to the decoded results of the common control information.
