Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and a system for generating an Internet protocol address in an Internet protocol system and a method and a system for delivering messages using the same are provided to accelerate an IP acquisition and to reduce a bandwidth by reducing time delay during IP generation. CONSTITUTION: A system for generating an IP(Internet Protocol) address in an Internet protocol system includes at least one mobile terminal(400), a base station(480), and a router(490). The mobile terminal generates and transmits a first MAC(Media Access Control) layer connection message having its MAC address and a field representing whether high speed address setting is enabled. The mobile terminal receives a second MAC connection message having a prefix of a sub-network to which the mobile terminal belongs and generates the IP address. The base station receives the first MAC connection message, determines whether the MAC address belongs to the same sub-network, and transmits the second MAC connection message having its prefix to the mobile terminal.
