    Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided to enable a filtering member installed in the upper side of a discharge roller to prevent toner bigger than a predetermined size from being discharged, thereby discharging the toner smoothly. An image forming apparatus includes a toner cartridge(30) and a developing unit. The toner cartridge has a housing(31), a toner outlet, a mixer(33), and a discharge roller(35). The housing stores toner in the inside. The toner outlet is protrudedly formed in a side of the housing. The mixer mixes the toner stored in the housing and moves the toner to a side of the toner outlet. The discharge roller is installed in the upper side of the toner outlet to rotate so that the toner moved by the mixer can be discharged to the toner outlet. The developing unit includes a developing device(20). The developing device is connected to the toner outlet. The toner is supplied from the toner outlet to the developing device. A filtering member(37) is installed in the upper side of the discharge roller to filter toner which can be not mixed through the mixer and be discharged to the toner outlet.

A developing device of an image forming apparatus includes an agitating unit(150), a developing roller(120), and agitating ribs(151). The agitating unit includes a frame(105) containing a developer, an agitating screw(152) which is set in the frame to agitate the developer, and caps(154,156) which are respectively set at both ends of the agitating screw and distant from the frame. The developing roller receives the agitated developer and develops an electrostatic latent image formed on a photosensitive drum using the developer.
