    Abstract: A long-distance variable optical delay apparatus is provided to expand the length of optical delay to several meters and realize connection with the conventional device, while minimizing light loss. A long-distance variable optical delay apparatus(100) includes an optical fiber forming a cavity core at the center and a pumping area(120) inflows the fluid of the high reflective to the inside of a cavity core while being connected with one end of the optical fiber. A fluid is the Hydrargyrum(Hg), and the optical fiber is a collaboration optical fiber or a photonic crystal optical fiber or photonic band gap optical fiber, the reflector is inserted into inside of cavity core and is moved inside of the cavity core by the fluid.
