Abstract: PURPOSE: A drainage and horizontal earth pressure reducing system of an underground concrete structure using an EPS block is provided to protect an underground concrete structure by reducing horizontal earth pressure, to prevent a crack on an underground concrete structure and to keep drainage efficiency during the performance period of a structure. CONSTITUTION: The drainage and horizontal earth pressure reducing system of an underground concrete structure using an EPS(Expended Poly Styrene) block is formed by building EPS blocks(1) between an underground concrete structure(10) and a back-filling soil body and installing on the wall of the underground concrete structure(10) to reduce horizontal earth pressure and to drain underground water. Wherein the EPS block(1) comprises the steps of beveling corners(2) of the EPS block(1) and building in multistage, forming a drainage part with the beveled corners(2), forming a penetration part for drainage of a rear soil body on the center, and coupling by a block coupler(4) provided with many insertion pins interposed to the EPS block(1).
