Abstract: An RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) sensor tag antenna using aperture coupling feed is provided to minimize the change of characteristics according to change of an object attached to a sensor tag by separating a radiation patch and a ground surface from the object at a predetermined interval. Abstract: An apparatus and a method for storing data sensed by a tag are provided to store data sensed or measured by a sensor while minimizing power consumption according to a power supply environment. An apparatus for storing data sensed by a tag includes a sensor(110), a volatile memory(120), a nonvolatile memory(130), a controller and an interface(100). The sensor senses or measures information on the region in which the tag is located. The volatile memory and the nonvolatile memory store data sensed or measured by the tag. The controller stores the data in the nonvolatile memory when power left in the tag is lower than a predetermined level. The controller temporarily stores the data in the volatile memory and moves the data to the nonvolatile memory according to a predetermined condition when the power is higher than the predetermined level.

Abstract: An RFID tag having a battery wake-up function and a method are provided to solve a problem of a passive tag having restricted range and an active tag always consuming an internal battery by determining battery support according to a voltage level of an RF received from an RFID reader. A power supply unit(209) selectively supplies power to internal components of the RFID tag. A voltage comparator(207) compares the voltage level output from a transformer(202) with a reference value. The voltage comparator enables a switch(208) to supply the power output from the transformer to the internal components if the voltage level output from the transformer is over the reference value, and enables the switch to supply the power received from the power supply unit to the internal components if not. The switch connects one of the transformer and the power supply unit to the internal components by control of the voltage comparator. The internal components include a controller(205), an EEPROM(Electronically Erasable Programmable ROM)(203), and a demodulator(204).
