    Abstract: PURPOSE: A diversity control method of a multi-carrier code division multiple access system in a cellular environment is provided to obtain a performance corresponding to a power control while fixing an output or widely reducing a dynamic range of transmitter by distributing effectively a resource called to a diversity and replacing or complementing the existing power control. CONSTITUTION: A DC(Diversity Control) distributes a number(M) of carriers actually transmitting signal in total number(M*) of multi-carriers according to a distance between a base station and terminal, on condition that an output power of each carrier is being fixed. The DC allows a transmitter to be easily implemented compared to the existing power control, since a dynamic range of the transmitter is fixed. The DC is even more easily implemented. Also, the DC is less affected by interference signal due to control error.
