    Abstract: To reduce the beam reporting latency, a base station may include a sounding reference signal (SRS) indication to a wireless communication device (UE) as part of the transmission configuration information (TCI) transmitted to the UE, allowing the UE to receive a corresponding downlink signal using the same beam (or with the same beam) the UE used to transmit (or with which the UE transmitted) the SRS indicated in the TCI. The SRS may be one of multiple SRSs previously transmitted by the UE. The UE may transmit the multiple SRSs periodically and/or according to semi-persistent scheduling, or it may transmit them aperiodically. Therefore, the UE does not need to report the beam quality, and the base station may perform the necessary beam measurement (s) instead. Various parameters and conditions may be defined for the UE to support SRS-based TCI.

    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to handover between cellular base stations. In some embodiments that use dual-connectivity handover, disclosed techniques may facilitate synchronization of a security configuration switch. In some embodiments, the base station and/or mobile device determine activation sequence numbers for the security configuration switch (e.g., by estimating when a path switch will occur). In some embodiments, the security configuration switch is implicitly detected based in deciphering failure. In some embodiments, the security configuration switch is explicitly signaled and is checked based on deciphering failure. In some embodiments that use make before break handover techniques, a source base station may be retained after the path switch.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to using a wake up signal in conjunction with cellular communication in unlicensed spectrum. A cellular base station may provide a wake up signal on an unlicensed frequency channel after successful completion of a listen-before-talk procedure. The wake up signal may include a preamble configured for coherent detection, and information indicating channel occupancy time for a cellular communication by the cellular base station and a cell identifier for the cellular base station. A wireless device may monitor the unlicensed frequency channel for a wake up signal, and may determine whether to monitor the unlicensed frequency channel for control channel signaling based on whether a wake up signal is received, and potentially also based on the contents of the wake up signal if a wake up signal is received.

    Abstract: Techniques for identity-based message integrity protection and verification between a user equipment (UE) and a wireless network entity, include use of signatures derived from identity-based keys. To protect against attacks from rogue network entities before activation of a security context with a network entity, the UE verifies integrity of messages by checking a signature using an identity-based public key PK ID derived by the UE based on (i) an identity value (ID) of the network entity and (ii) a separate public key PK PKG of a private key generator (PKG) server. The network entity generates signatures for messages using an identity-based private key SK ID obtained from the PKG server, which generates the identity-based private key SK ID using (i) the ID value of the network entity and (ii) a private key SK PKG that is known only by the PKG server and corresponds to the public key PK PKG .
