Abstract: PURPOSE:To set an appropriate operation system for a user without making the operation system keys complicated and without requiring special effort of the user by providing a registration means capable of changing arbitrarity key input function. CONSTITUTION:In key function registration mode, a CPU 11 executes a program stored in a ROM14. When a certain registration key is pressed and when any key function is not registered in the key, selectable functions are displayed on an LCD panel, referring to function numbers. Then the input of registration command is waited. When selection key input is used for a registration command input, the selectable function display is scrolled and when the user inputs a clear key, the key functions already registered in a RAM 15 is cleared. When the user inputs a set key, the check for duplicated registration in another key is performed and the registration of the function is performed. Thus, the registered communication function is executed with a pressing of the registration key in which the function is registered.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent damage or sticking of an ink sheet from happening by a method wherein when the recording motion is interrupted during recording of image data, after heating an ink sheet, the ink sheet and a recording medium are separated by carrying the recording medium by a designated quantity. CONSTITUTION:When communication interruption is detected, data in which the whole of one line is black is transferred to a thermal head 13. Then, power is connected with a heating resisting element 132 by single block unit, and the heating resisting element 132 of the thermal head 13 is heated so that the temperature of an ink layer on an ink sheet 14 may not decrease. Thus, under a condition where the temperature of the ink layer is kept at a high temperature, carrying, cutting and delivery of a recording paper 11 are performed. Thus, separation between the ink sheet 14 and the recording paper is made easier by connecting power with the thermal head 13 to heat it so that the temperature of the ink layer may not decrease when communication is interrupted and the recording motion is stopped, and then carrying the recording paper 11. By this method, damage, etc. of the ink sheet 14 due to sticking to the recording paper 11 can be prevented from happening.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To record a favorable image by a method wherein when the recording speed is fast, the carrying quantity of an ink sheet to a recording medium is made smaller to save the ink sheet, and when the recording speed is slow, the carrying quantity of the ink sheet is made larger. CONSTITUTION:A transmission speed by which a facsimile is transmitted from a transmitting side is input and stored in a RAM 115. Then, an image signal which is transmitted from an apparatus on the other end is input, decoded and stored in a line memory 110. The transmission speed indicated by the apparatus on the other end, which is stored in the RAM 115, is read, and it is checked if this speed is 9,600(b/s). If it is 9,600(b/s), an ink sheet 14 is carried by four half-steps. On the contrary, if the transmission speed is 7,200(b/s), the step ink sheet is carried by five half-steps. Also, if the transmission speed is other than above, the procedure is advanced to the step S19, and the ink sheet 14 is carried by six half-steps.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to record half-tone image with the same density as other images by a method wherein when half-tone image is detected, the carrying quantity of an ink sheet to a recording medium is made larger to perform the recording. CONSTITUTION:It is checked that a received image is binary image or half-tone image. This is decided, e.g., based on control information which is included in a control signal transmitted by a facsimile device on the transmitting side. This control information is stored in a RAM 115 at the time of receiving, and based on this stored information, it is discriminated that an image which is stored in a line memory 110 at the present time is binary image or half-tone image. When it is half-tone image, recording data for one line is output to a shift register 130 of a thermal head 13 by serial. When transfer of the recording data for one line is completed, a latch signal is output, and the recording data for one line is stored in a latch circuit 131.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to save an ink sheet by changing carrying quantity of an ink sheet to a recording medium in response to a measured environmental condition. CONSTITUTION:By setting a ratio between gears 74 and 75 in such a manner that the length of an ink sheet 14 which is wound by a take-up roll 18 by rotation of a gear 75a becomes longer than the length of the ink sheet which is carried by a capstan roller 71, the ink sheet 14 carried by the capstan roller 71 is assuredly wound by the take-up roll 18. A portion which is equivalent with a difference quantity between the wound quantity of the ink sheet 14 by the take-up roll 18 and the quantity of the ink sheet 14 carried by the capstan roller 71 is absorbed by a slip clutch unit 75. By this method, the variation in carrying speed (quantity) of the ink sheet 14 due to the variation of a winding diameter of the take-up roll 18 can be suppressed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the fluctuation of the feed length of an ink sheet to a recording medium to a predetermined range by mounting at least two feed mechanisms rotationally driving the take-up roll of the ink sheet and change over the feed mechanisms corresponding to the take-up length of the ink sheet. CONSTITUTION:When the relative speed of an ink sheet 14 to thermal head 13 is set to V1 and the relative speed of recording paper 11 to the thermal head 13 is set to Vp, the value of (n) at the time of n-times recording is shown by n=Vp/V1. Even when the value of (n) is set to 6 at the beginning, the take-up quantity of the ink sheet 14 increases and the value of (n) becomes gradually smaller. When the take-up quantity of the ink sheet 14 reaches a predetermined value, the rotation of an ink sheet feed motor 25 is reversed and, when the transmission route of the rotation to an ink sheet take-up roll 18 is altered from a transmission gear 61 to a transmission gear 63, the value of (n) is reset to 6. By this constitution, the fluctuation of the value of (n) can be suppressed to a predetermined range.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make recording possible using a thermal head without a heat history control circuit by a method wherein while printing a first sheet of the same picture information, temperature information of a thermal head for respective lines is detected, and an energy to be applied at the time of printing of a second sheet forth is determined. CONSTITUTION:When a plural number of sheets of the same image are printed, when a first sheet is recorded, data from a temperature sensor 133, which detects a temperature of a thermal head 13, is stored in a temperature data area in a RAM 115 for respective lines, and an appropriate pulse width data to the data for all the lines is read and decided from a table in a ROM 114. In this table, head driving pulse width information which corresponds with temperature rising of the thermal head 13 is stored, and at the time of recording process of a second sheet forth, referring to the temperature data which is stored in the temperature data area, the driving pulse width of the thermal head 13 for each line is decided, and recording is performed. Even with a thermal head which does not have a heat history control circuit, influence such as accumulation of heat, etc., can be reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To use a recording medium with less residual quantity effectively to attain reception recording by sending data to a sender side equipment so that the succeeding reception mode is brought into a mode in which a facsimile equipment receives the data with a minimum recording size when a residual quantity of the recording medium reaches a prescribed quantity or below. CONSTITUTION:When the reception is started. at first whether or not a residual amount mark 13 is detected based on a signal from a recording paper sensor 12. when the mark 13 is detected, the content of a CNT 302 is compared with the content of a DIST 301 to check whether or not the residual amount of recording paper 9 reaches a prescribed length or below. when the residual amount of the recording paper 9 reaches a prescribed length or below, reception disable is informed to a sender side equipment and the reception is stopped. Thus, the sender side equipment reduces the transmission original size and sends the 2nd and succeeding pages. Then the receiver side equipment receives a facsimile signal and decodes the signal to record a picture onto thermosensitive recording paper. When a memory is used in place of the recording medium for the memory deputy reception, the receptible capacity is discriminated by the memory residual amount in place of the mark 13.

Thus the recording device 102 is driven with less than routine energy using the inverted data of an image, used in an immediately preceding recording, before routine image recording. In this way, image quality can be improved.

A flag deciding whether or not a received picture data is recorded and outputted for plural pages is set to a prescribed area of a RAM 115 by an operation section 103. when the picture data stored in the picture memory 110 is outputted to the recording section 102, the picture data of the same page is recorded by the recording section 102 by the recording page number set in the RAM 115. Thus, the received picture data is used effectively.
