Abstract: Un método implementado por un dispositivo inalámbrico para inicializar un generador de secuencias pseudoaleatorias en el que basar la generación de una señal de referencia de enlace ascendente, en el que el salto de desplazamiento cíclico se habilita para el dispositivo, que comprende: derivar selectivamente (300) una de las secuencias de inicialización dentro de un subconjunto de posibles secuencias de inicialización para el generador de secuencias, de acuerdo con una o más reglas que definen diferentes secuencias de inicialización en el subconjunto en función de un único parámetro, en donde el único parámetro se recibe desde una estación base, en donde dicha derivación (300) comprende derivar la secuencia de inicialización en base a un mapeo definido de uno con uno de posibles secuencias de inicialización en el subconjunto con posibles valores para el único parámetro, en donde el intervalo del único parámetro es más pequeño que el intervalo del subconjunto; generar (310) la señal de referencia de enlace ascendente con el generador de secuencias inicializado a la secuencia de inicialización derivada, mediante la determinación de un patrón de salto de desplazamiento cíclico a partir de la secuencia de inicialización derivada y mediante la aplicación del patrón de salto de desplazamiento cíclico a un desplazamiento cíclico, y mediante la aplicación del desplazamiento cíclico resultante a una secuencia de base; y transmitir (320) la señal generada.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement for analyzing transmission line properties. Measurement data providing means (10) provide data of a first frequency dependent line property, line property calculation arrangement (20) with model handling means (21 A), a Hubert transform handler (22) and line property determination means (23) calculate said first property based on model parameters, line resistance at 0 frequency, roc r cut-off frequency, v, line capacitance C∞r and line inductance Σ^. The line model handling means (21 A) calculates the line inductance L(J) via a Hubert transform of Q(f/v)r relating line resistance R(J) to roc such as formula (I). The Hilbert transform values are calculated using a parameterized closed form expression for the Hubert transform or they are tabulated. The line property determination means (23; 23A) calculates the first property and criteria function application means (40) uses the measured first property and the calculated first property for model parameters to find optimized numerical model parameter values.

Abstract: The length and attenuation of a signal line between a transmitter and a customer premises equipment is to be estimated. A frequency dependent line input impedance (Z in (f)) as seen from the transmitter, is measured and an absolute impedance value (oe Z in (f) oe), is generated. The latter is shown as a curve (A1) in the diagram with the frequency (f) on the abscissa and the impedance (oe Z in (f) oe) on the ordinate. Extreme values (Max. 1 , Max 2 , Max 3 ; Min 1 , Min 2 , Min 3 ) arc denoted and a frequency distance (FD 1 -FD 4 ) between two consecutive of the extreme values is generated. The line length (L) is generated as L=½.vop/FD 1 , in which vop is the velocity of propagation of a signal on the line. The attenuation is estimated by multiplying the line length with an average attenuation value for the actual line type. The advantages are that the line length can be estimated with good accuracy in a simple manner for short lines and that the line attenuation is estimated in a simple manner.

Abstract: Determining of transmission properties of a telecommunication transmission line wherein a complex input impedance of the line is first determined (204) from the relationship between a signal sent on the line (200) and a received resulting signal (201). For frequencies for which the absolute value of the propagation constant times line length is less than, the line input impedance can be expressed in terms of line constants (line capacitance, resistance, inductance and conductance) and frequency using a Taylor series expansion. After truncation of higher order terms and insertion of measured values, the resulting system of equations can be solved and the line constants generated (206), provided that there are at least two frequencies. Furthermore, from the line capacitance and a standard value for line capacitance per km, a line length can be estimated (207).

Abstract: A method and loop qualification unit for determining loop parameters of a topology of a twisted pair loop for a digital subscriber line system. The parameters are represented by a vector that receives a measurement of a SELT parameter measured at one end of the loop and a measurement of a DELT loop transfer function measured at both ends of the loop. A first model generator generates a first model for the SELT parameter and a second model generator generates a second model for the DELT function based on the loop parameters represented by the vector. A processor then determines the parameters by minimizing the differences between the first model and the SELT parameter, and the second model and the DELT function. The determined parameters are represented by the vector that provides the minimization.

Abstract: An echo canceller reduces an echo signal produced when the transmitted signal leaks back into the receiver via a hybrid. The echo canceller estimates the echo signal from the transmitted signal, and then subtracting the estimated echo signal from the received signal. In practice, the echo path channel in a DMT-modem is much longer than the cyclic prefix, and therefore, the received echo signal will be subjected to both ISI (inter-symbol-interference) and ICI (inter-carrier-interference). A traditional echo canceller, designed for a xDSL-modem, uses either a time domain adaptive FIR-filter or a combined echo canceller implemented in both time and frequency domain. A matrix-based adaptive echo canceller is implemented in the frequency domain. Various example embodiments are disclosed.
