    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which has good visibility of leakproof grooves, effective feeling, and safety feeling, the leakproof grooves do not collapse even if the article is twisted during wearing on, and is excellent in leakproof performance.
    SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 has a liquid retainable absorbent layer 2 and a liquid impermeable leakproof layer 3, is substantially lengthwise long, is formed of a pair of leakproof grooves 61 along the longitudinal direction and lateral leakproof grooves 64, 64' along the width direction to the skin abutting face of the absorbent layer 2. The width of the leakproof grooves 61 is formed wider than the width of the lateral leakproof grooves 64, 64'.
