SOLUTION: This is a manufacturing method of a plasma display panel in which a pair of substrates arranged with a group of electrodes are arranged opposed to each other so as to form a discharge space between the substrates and the surroundings of the substrates are sealed with a sealing member. After a rod-shape glass 11 is fixed closely on a prescribed position of one side substrate 1, the glass 11 is melted in the state that this glass 11 is clipped by the pair of substrates 1, 5, thereby, the surroundings of the substrates 1, 5 are adhered with the glass 11. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably manufacturing gas discharge panels in which a top part of a partition wall and a panel base plate are tightly attached along the whole surfaces in manufacturing gas discharge panels represented by a PDP. SOLUTION: After an enclosure 40 of the PDP is formed, it is put into a heating furnace 51, and outer circumferential parts of both panels 10 and 20 are sealed to each other, while pressure is regulated in such a way that inner pressure of the enclosure 40 is lower than outer pressure. This pressure regulation is conducted by discharging inner gas of the enclosure 40 through a piping member 26 by a vacuum pump 52, for example. Both panels are thus sealed to each other as they are pressurized from the outer side, thereby the top part of a partition wall and a front surface panel are sealed to each other as they are tightly applied to each other as a whole.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate flicker and dispersion in the discharge start voltage in the peripheral zone of the displaying area of a PDP, i.e., in the neighborhood of the part where a sealing member is formed, such problems being caused by an impurity gas emitted from a frit.
SOLUTION: A mixture of frit and a solvent is used as a component of a paste prepared when the sealing member is applied. For preventing a nozzle of a dispenser from clogging caused by precipitation of the frit, a stirring mechanism is installed in a syringe used in the dispenser, or otherwise a paste stirring part is coupled with the syringe, a valve is installed in the coupling part, and the valve is opened only at the time of application. The risk of cracking of dried frit paste partially or of exfoliation can be precluded by applying the frit paste and drying, heating the part where the sealing member is formed, and melting the facial part and hardening.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display panel that eliminates expansion of the panel caused by thermal expansion of gas in the panel in a sealing process, and has high display uniformity and less panel noise. SOLUTION: A lid is disposed over a through hole formed in the panel. The gas in the panel thermally expands to increase its inner pressure to press up the lid, and thus the gas goes out. When thermal shrinkage of the inner gas of the panel decreases panel's inner pressure, the lid is closed depending on a pressure difference between the inside and the outside of the panel to keep airtightness of the panel.
