Abstract: PURPOSE:To minimize leakage of a refrigerant and make the tile device safe and inexpensive, by providing a refrigerant leakage detector capable of detecting a leakage of a refrigerant in a room to be air-conditioned which is provided with a room unit, and providing a stop valve operated by the detector in a use-side refrigerant cycle for the room. CONSTITUTION:In a cooling operation, a refrigerant cycle indicated by solid lines is formed, in which heat is exchanged between a second auxiliary heat exchanger 9 in a use-side refrigerant cycle and a first auxiliary heat exchanger 8 in a heat source side refrigerant cycle, whereby a gaseous refrigerant in the use-side cycle is condensed into a liquid through cooling, and the liquid refrigerant is sent through a refrigerant quantity regulating tank 10 to a refrigerant conveyor 11. The conveyor 11 feeds the refrigerant through a connecting piping d' and a stop valves 15a, 15b to use-side heat exchangers 12a, 12b, where it is evaporated through heat absorption, and the gaseous refrigerant is circulated through a connecting piping (d) and stop valves 14a, 14b to the second auxiliary heat exchanger 9. In this operation, when the refrigerant is leaked from a room unit C disposed in a room (b) to be air-conditioned, a refrigerant leakage detector 13a operates the stop valves 14a, 15a to stop the passage of the refrigerant to the unit C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to control the capacity of room unit through a simple mechanism by providing a detector that detects pressure differential between points before and behind a refrigerant carrier, and a controller that controls the capacity of the refrigerant carrier with the pressure differential obtained by the said detector. CONSTITUTION:The capacity of refrigerant carrier 11 is under control by inverter 13. Pressure differential detector 14 detects a pressure differential between before and behind the refrigerant carrier 11, and controller 15 controls the capacity of the refrigerant carrier 11 through controlling the frequency of inverter 13 by the detected pressure differential. In other words, the controller 15 controls the carrying capacity of the refrigerant carrier 11 to suit load of the room unit b, the heat exchanging capacities of 2nd auxiliary heat exchanger 9 and room side heat exchanger 12 by controlling refrigerant circulating quantity in room side refrigerant cycle, and the capacity of the room side refrigerant cycle. The heat exchanging capacity of 1st auxiliary heat exchanger 8 is controlled by that of the and auxiliary heat exchanger 9, and so, it follows that the capacity of heat source refrigerant cycle balances with that of room side refrigerant cycle.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable execution of comfortable heating operation and to improve heating efficiency, by a method wherein, when a difference between high and low temperatures in a room to be air-conditioned is increased to a value higher than a given value during heating operation, a solenoid valve situated in a capacity control bypass for heating is repeatedly opened and closed at intervals of a given time. CONSTITUTION:During heating operation, high temperature high pressure gas discharged from a compressor 1 is fed from a 4-way valve 2 to an indoor unit 9 through a connection piping 13b and radiated and condensed by a heat exchanger 10 on the indoor side to perform heating. The gas is fed to an outdoor unit 8 through a check valve 12 and a connection piping 13a and is reduced in a pressure by means of a pressure reducing device 4 for heating. The heat of the gas is absorbed by means of a heat exchanger 3 on the outdoor side to vaporize the gas, which is circulated to the compressor 1 through the 4-way valve 2 and an accumulator 6. In this case, when a difference between high and low temperatures in a room 14 to be air-conditioned detected by means of a temperature difference detecting device 15 is increased to a value higher than a given value, repeated operation is performed in which a solenoid valve 7a situated in a control bypass 7 for heating is opened for a given time by means of a control device 16 to reduce heating capacity of a system and reduce a discharge air temperature, after that, the solenoid valve 7a is closed for a given time to increase heating capacity and the discharge air temperature of the indoor unit 9 is increased.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To simply control a capacity of a user side unit by forming a refrigerant conveyor provided in a user side refrigerator cycle in a capacity control type. CONSTITUTION: In a refrigerant cycle of the cooling and heating apparatus, a refrigerant conveyor 11 is capacity-controlled by an inverter 13. A conveying capacity of the conveyor 11 is controlled to meet a load of a user side unit (b). A heat exchange capacity of a second auxiliary heat exchanger 9 and a user side heat exchanger 12 is controlled under the control of a refrigerant circulating amount of the user side cycle, and a capacity of the user side cycle is controlled. A capacity of a heat source side refrigerant cycle is balanced with a capacity of the user side cycle since a heat exchange capacity of a first auxiliary heat exchanger 8 is controlled by a heat exchange capacity of a second auxiliary heat exchanger 9. Accordingly, the capacity of the user side cycle to meet the load of the user side unit is obtained with a simple constitution, a temperature of a chamber to be air conditioned is stabilized, its comfortableness is improved, number of times of stopping the heat source side unit is reduced and its efficiency is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain efficient start-up characteristics of cooling and heating operation by a method wherein the capacity of a compressor and the pulses of respective motor- driven expansion valves, which are compatible to the operating capacity of an indoor unit, a room temperature and an outdoor air temperature upon starting, are set. CONSTITUTION: The frequency of an inverter compressor 1 and the pulses of an outdoor side motor-driven expansion valve as well as indoor side motor-driven inflating valves 10a, 10b upon starting are selected so as to have valves, preset by a controller 15. In this case, a parameter is formed of an outdoor air temperature, detected by an outdoor temperature detector 6, and the operating capacities of indoor units 8a, 8b, which are detected by an operating capacity detector 13, while the frequency and pulses are selected from the patterns. The outdoor temperature, the operating capacities of indoor units 8a, 8b and a room temperature upon starting operation are measured and the frequency of the inverter compressor 1 as well as the pulses of respective motor-driven expansion valves 10a, 10b can be set by selecting from the optimized operation patterns in such a manner whereby efficient cooling and heating capacities, in accordance with the load of indoor units and the room temperature, can be obtained thereby improving the rise-up characteristic of a multi-chamber type air conditioner.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to always operate with excellent efficiency with a simple construction by selecting from a pattern which is beforehand set up the frequency of an inverter compressor, the pulses of an indoor side electrically operated expansion valve and an outdoor side electrically operated expansion valve by the temperature difference of a set temperature of an indoor unit and room temperature and the capacity of operation of the indoor unit and the outdoor air temperature. CONSTITUTION:During the room cooling operation, the coolant that is discharged from an inverter compressor 1 radiates heat and condenses from a four-way valve 2 to an outdoor side heat exchanger 3, passes through an outdoor side electrically operated expansion valve 4 and a liquid piping 12, and is depressurized in indoor side electrically operated expansion valves 10a and 10b, then absorbs heat and evaporates in indoor side heat exchangers 9a and 9b to cool the room, and then circulates to a gas piping 13, four-way valve 2, accumulator 5, and inverter compressor 1. At this time the frequency of the inverter compressor 1 and the pulses of an outdoor side electrically operated expansion valve 4 and indoor side electrically operated expansion valves 10a and 10b form a parameter with three items, the outdoor temperature detected by an outdoor temperature sensor 6, the operation capacities of the indoor units 8a and 8b which are detected by a capacity detector 14, and the temperature difference of a set temperature and room temperature detected by temperature difference sensors 11a and 11b and a selection is made from them.
