Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed according to certain aspects of the present disclosure. The apparatus comprises an interface configured to receive, from a wireless node, at least one ranging frame. The apparatus also comprises a processing system configured to determine at least one round trip time (RTT) between the apparatus and the wireless node based on the received at least one ranging frame, determine a quality of the at least one RTT based on the received at least one ranging frame, and generate a feedback frame comprising the at least one RTT and the quality of the at least one RTT. The interface is further configured to output a feedback frame for transmission to the wireless node.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for implementing multi-link aggregation and conditional inheritance in a first basic service set (BSS). In one aspect, an apparatus may establish a first communication link with a first station (STA) of the first BSS using a first frequency band. The apparatus may determine a first link profile for a second communication link by customizing one or more management elements of management information associated with the first communication link. The apparatus may configure a first non-inheritance element of the first link profile associated with the second communication link to indicate usage of at least one management element of the management information by the second communication link is disabled. The apparatus may generate a management frame that comprises at least the first link profile, and may output the management frame for transmission.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for a STA. The STA receives a management frame including a first broadcast TWT parameter set associated with a broadcast TWT schedule identified by a first ID. The first broadcast TWT parameter set identifies a first time duration associated with a validity of the first broadcast TWT parameter set. The first broadcast TWT parameter set identifies at least four bits indicating the first time duration. In addition, the STA determines the validity of the first broadcast TWT parameter set based on the received first time duration. The STA may refrain from monitoring subsequent management frames (e.g., in order to sleep, to enter into a power saving mode, or to monitor other devices) that include the first broadcast TWT parameter set for a second time duration based on the first time duration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device ( e.g. , an access point or a station) capable of supporting multiple chain configuration modes may dynamically select a chain configuration mode via channel analysis and energy efficiency analysis. A wireless device may monitor traffic on a wireless channel using a first chain configuration mode. The wireless device may determine an energy value associated with monitoring the traffic using the first ( e.g. , single) chain configuration, and further determine or infer an energy value associated with monitoring the traffic using a second ( e.g. , multi) chain configuration. The wireless device may perform a channel metric computation on the traffic ( e.g. , perform a QR decomposition of a channel matrix associated with the monitored traffic). The wireless device may then switch or select a chain configuration mode for operation based on a comparison between the determined energy values and the channel metric computation.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to minimizing power consumption of a WiFi system-on- chip (SOC) during idle periods. The disclosed architecture includes memory banks for the WiFi SoC's embedded processor that can be independently powered on/off and a Memory Management Unit (MMU) to translate virtual addresses to physical addresses and generate exceptions to process accesses to virtual addresses without a corresponding physical address. The architecture can implement a demand paging scheme whereby a MMU fault from an access to code/data not within the embedded memory causes the processor to fetch the code/data from an off-chip secondary memory. To minimize page faults, the architecture stores WiFi client code/data within the embedded processor's memory that is repeatedly accessed with a short periodicity or where there is an intolerance for delays of accessing the code/data.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. One method may include communicating with an access point (AP) during awake intervals in which the wireless device is in an awake mode, determining a congestion level associated with a radio frequency (RF) spectrum band, and determining, for an awake interval, an inactivity timeout (ITO) interval for the wireless device to remain in the awake mode based on an identified RF spectrum band and the determined congestion level used by the wireless device to communicate with the AP. A second method may include polling an AP during a delivery traffic indication message (DTIM) period, and modifying timing for the station to poll the AP based on identifying that a trigger condition has been satisfied based on a determination that at least one null data message has been received from the AP, or a predetermined threshold number of polls have timed out.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device (e.g., an access point or a station) capable of supporting multiple chain configuration modes may monitor traffic on a wireless channel. The wireless device may, based on the monitoring, determine a series of values for a metric that is indicative of communication conditions. The metric may be a packet rate, channel congestion, or signal strength. The wireless device may dynamically select one of the supported chain configuration modes in which to operate based on the series of values for the metric. In some cases, the wireless device may compute a value for the metric based on the series of values and compare the value of the metric to a predetermined threshold. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communications. A device may utilize enhanced roaming techniques to identify a candidate channel for roaming. In one example, a device determines whether a candidate channel is congested by calculating a congestion metric associated with traffic over the shared channel. In some examples, the congestion metric is calculated based at least in part on an amount of energy measured over the candidate. For instance, the calculated congestion metric can be an instantaneous congestion level measured during a CCA. The device may then determine whether to roam to the candidate channel based at least in part on the calculated congestion metric.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods in a wireless local area network are disclosed for delivering queued downlink (DL) data from an access point (AP 110) to a plurality of wireless stations (STAs). The AP 110 determines, for each of the plurality of STAs, a presence of a corresponding set of queued DL data, transmits a beacon frame 510 identifying which of the plurality of STAs has queued DL data, and transmits, to each of the identified STAs, permission 520 to request delivery of queued DL data. Next, AP 110 receives, from each of the identified STAs, a request 530 for delivery of the queued DL data. Then, AP 110 concurrently transmits, to each of the identified STAs, the corresponding set of queued DL data 540. The AP 110 preferably uses power save (PS) trigger frames 520 to schedule concurrent DL data transmissions to the plurality of STAs. By using PS trigger frames 520, the plurality of STAs does not need to contend with each other for medium access to request delivery of queued DL data. Instead, a number of STAs that receive the PS trigger frame 520 may concurrently transmit requests 530 for delivery of the queued DL data without contending with each other for medium access, thereby reducing delays associated with medium access contention operations. Upon receiving the requests 530, the AP 110 may concurrently transmit queued DL data 540 to multiple STAs using OFDMA communications or multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) communications. ln an alternative embodiment, the AP's permission and the STA's request are implicit. ln this case, the AP 110 and the receiving STA5 exchange PS-Trigger capabilities and/or negotiate a number of PS-Trigger parameters prior to the delivery of queued DL data from the AP 110 to the receiving STA5. For at least some implementations, the AP 110 may selectively use PS-Trigger frames to schedule delivery of queued DL data based on a level of congestion on the shared wireless medium.
