Abstract: PURPOSE: To stabilize the running performance of a drive belt and a magnetic tape by increasing the wrap angle of the drive belt against two take-up hubs. CONSTITUTION: Two hubs 5, 6 for taking up a magnetic tape 4 are arranged at the symmetrical positions (HP1=HP2) about the center line CL2 of a base plate 2, and two tape guides 7, 8 for guiding the tape taken-up to each hub 5, 6 are arranged at the symmetrical positions (GP1=GP2) about the center line CL2. Further, each corner roller 11, 12 for bringing the drive belt 10 being in press-contact with the peripheral surfaces of each hub 5, 6 is arranged at the symmetrical positions (CP1=CP2) about the center line CL2. A drive roller 9 for driving the drive belt 10 is arranged so as to deviate the center to the side of tape guide 8 against the center line CL2. Then, a wrap roller 13 for increasing the warp angle of the magnetic tape 4 against the hub 5 is provided between the drive roller 9 and the 1st hub 5.

CONSTITUTION: 1st, 2nd hubs 5, 6 for taking up a magnetic tape 4 and 1st, 2nd tape guides 7, 8 for guiding the take-up of magnetic tape to the 1st, 2nd hubs 5, 6 are provided on a base plate 2 of the data cartridge 1. The 1st hub 5, tape guide 7 and the 2nd hub 6, tape guide 8 are arranged at the linear symmetrical positions against the center line of the base plate 2 in the width direction. By this arrangement, wrap angles against both tape guides 7, 8 are made to be the same as each other.

By this arrangement, each end part of the torsion spring 32 can be fitted to the positions such that a winding part of the torsion spring 32 approaches between both recessed grooves 31b, 31c, therefore, a center of the spring winding part can be made to coincide with a setting center of the supporting shaft 2b in the insertion port 31a when the torsion spring 32 is loaded to the lid body 6, then the abutting of the supporting shaft 2b to the torsion spring 32 is prevented.
