PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which suppresses a printing failure when a print head in an Rθ scanning method having a plurality of nozzle rows is used. SOLUTION: The print head 20 which has two or more nozzle rows arranged on two or more of a reference line B corresponding to a radial direction of a circle for a rotating printing object 100 and one or more offset lines O in parallel to the reference line, discharges ink drops of the same color from a nozzle 30 which passes a first path on the rotating printing object, moves the print head so that each nozzle row slightly moves on the reference line or the offset line, and discharges ink drops of the same color from a nozzle which passes a second path that is slightly moved from the first path on the rotating printing object. In this way, the ink drops are discharged on the area where print defects are caused because the area is not on the paths of the discharge nozzles before the discharge nozzles are minutely moved. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved printer which can perform a printing so that an ink-jet head may not interfere with a chucking part when performing a multi-pass printing on the non-recording surface of a rotatably-driven recording medium. SOLUTION: The printer includes a printing section for printing visible information onto the non-recording surface of the rotatably-driven recording medium by discharging an ink droplet, and a control section for controlling the discharge timing of the ink droplet discharged from the printing section while controlling the printing section movement to the radial direction of the recording medium. The printing section performs the printing of the visible information by performing the multi-pass printing which completes the printing to the same radius position of the non-recording surface by discharging of inks discharged from different ink-discharging nozzles. The control section performs the controlling of the printing section so that the printing may be performed with a printing pattern different from the printing pattern for other positions of the non-recording surface when performing the printing to the most interior area of the non-recording surface. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device capable of speeding up printing speed and miniaturizing a printing head, a printing medium driver, and a printing method. SOLUTION: A printing unit has the printing head 55 capable of being arranged so as to face the face to be printed of a disc and a printing head rotating mechanism 40 having holder 43 for holding the printing head 55 and rotating the printing head 55 by a predetermined angle. A driving pulley 45 is arranged around the output shaft 44a of a rotary motor 44, a driven pulley 57 is connected to the driving pulley 45 via a timing belt 53. By this constitution, the width of a printed image can be suitably controlled according to the position on the disc for example. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a printer for discharging ink from discharge nozzles provided in a print head and for printing visible information on a print surface of a rotating printing object causes a landing position of an ink droplet to be shifted owing to rotation of the printing object, and thereby the printed visible information inevitably to develop a distortion. SOLUTION: When at first visible information to be printed on a printing object is converted into polar coordinate data from biaxial rectangular coordinate data, a landing position correction to correct a shift of an ink droplet is made, and the visible information is converted into landing position correction polar coordinate data. Then, ink discharge data is created from the landing position correction polar coordinate data, and an ink droplet is discharged onto the printing object from the ink discharge data so as to print the visible information.
