Abstract: An optical recording medium is capable of linear recording in a photon mode. An organic material changed in molecular orientation on light illumination to exhibit birefringence is used as a recording material. For example, a recording layer having, as a recording material, an organic material changed in molecular orientation caused by trans-cis rearrangement, is changed in birefringence with changes in the molecular orientation of the organic material. The recording system which utilizes the changes in the molecular orientation of the organic material has linear characteristics and gives outputs different depending on e.g., the degree or the angle of orientation, thus enabling multi-valued recording.

Abstract: An ultraviolet radiation projector of this invention includes a focusing optical member arranged between an exposure surface of an ultraviolet sensitive material and a panel surface of a CRT for emitting an ultraviolet beam to expose the exposure surface which is kept separated from the focusing system, thereby preventing contact between the exposure surface and any element of the focusing system. An optical image forming apparatus of this invention can form a high-precision two-dimensional image for an electronic circuit pattern by exposing the exposure surface with a pattern corresponding to a desired electronic circuit pattern using the ultraviolet radiation projector as a light source. In addition, sheet-like resins cured by the exposure with the ultraviolet beam using the ultraviolet radiation projector as a light source are sequentially stacked to form a desired high-precision three-dimensional image.

Abstract: In an optical-disk manufacturing device in which a disklike plate (8) is coated with an ultraviolet-set resin (39) at one side thereof, pressed against a stamper (11), and irradiated by ultraviolet rays to transfer a pattern provided in the stamper (11) to the ultraviolet-set resin (39), the optical-disk manufacturing device comprises a disklike-plate supplying part (13) which can store a plurality of disklike plates (8); a resin supplying part (C) for supplying the resin to the disklike plate (8); a transfer part (D) for transferring the pattern of the stamper (11) to the resin (39); a disklike-plate removing part (E) for removing the disklike plate (8) after transferring; and a transport device (X,Y) to transport the disklike plate (8) from each preceding part to each following part; wherein all the parts of the device are arranged in alignment in order of mention, and the central line passing through a first position of the transfer part (D), where the disklike plate (8) is overlaid upon the stamper (11), and at least a second position of the transfer part (D), where the resin sandwiched between the disklike plate (8) and the stamper (11) is irradiated by the ultraviolet rays is substantially vertical to the direction of the parts of the manufacturino device being in line.

Abstract: The optical recording medium has main data recorded on a recording track that has been formed in advance along the track direction, and the recorded data are read out by optical system. Frame synchronising signals based on the same format as the main data format are recorded in advance for each frame that serves as a data recording unit utilising the displacement in the direction of width of the recording track itself, whereby the frame synchronism is easily obtained and the constitution is simplified as a result of using the synchronising circuit in common. The data to be recorded in advance by displacing the track itself in the direction of width include frame synchronising signal as well as any reproduction-only data, in order to increase the recording capacity of the disk. The circuit constitution is simplified by using in common the reproducing circuit for reproducing frame synchronising signals of main data recorded in the track direction of the recording track and the reproducing circuit for reproducing frame synchronising signals of the same format as the main data in the data recorded being displaced in the direction of track width.
