Abstract: Head covering adjustable in size, of the type having a main portion in the shape of a hemispherical body (1) capable of being distorted so that its volume is decreased prior to its initial use, particularly a cap. The head covering has an elastic strip (10) sewn in such a way as to form a frustoconical member converging inwards within the cap. The frustoconical member has a circumference ranging from greater than an average head size to less than an average head size. Said member is attached at the lower edge thereof to the peripheral edge (11) of the cap, which preferably includes stiffening means (13) for forming, in a stable use position, a rigid circular reinforcement, and which folds into a storage position.
