Abstract:
The present invention presents a filtration system with an integrated manifold valve. The filtration system employs only one pivotal component - the pivoting of the manifold. The manifold valve includes a dual aperture design for a two-fold alignment scheme with the ingress and egress lines of the fluid source. The invention is free of multi-component rotary valve with internal, rotatable parts, or an activation component, such as a handle, for initiating the rotary valve, allowing the user to rotate the rotational components thereof. The reduction in moveable components in this design reduces the likelihood of failure and increases the reliability of the filtration system.
Abstract:
In a case structure for a fluid pressure device, a filter (12) that constitutes part of a fluid pressure unit (10) is equipped with a first body (20), a case unit (22) connected to a lower portion of the first body (20), and a filter unit (24) accommodated in the interior of the case unit (22). The case unit (22) is made up from an outer case (40), which is formed as a bottomed cylinder from a light-permeable transparent material, and an inner case (42) inserted into the interior of the outer case (40). Additionally, by insertion of the case unit (22) into an installation hole (36) that opens on a lower portion of the first body (20) and rotating the case unit (22), projections (58) and retaining walls (56) provided on an outer circumferential surface of the case unit (22) engage with support members (38) provided in the installation hole (36), thus placing the case unit (22) in a connected state.
Abstract:
A filter assembly has a head portion (12) comprising a housing (20) having inlet means (16) and outlet means (18) for inlet and outlet of fluid respectively and a filter (14) releasably connectable to the head portion and being adapted to receive a flow of fluid from the inlet means and return it to the outlet means. The assembly has valve means (28) within the housing displaceable between a first, closed position, and a second, open position. The filter portion (14) is engageable with the valve means (28), in which condition the filter portion is displaceable with respect to the housing (20) of the head portion between a first position in which the filter portion (14) is disconnected from the head portion and disengageable from the valve means (28) and a second position in which the filter portion (14) is connected to the head portion (12). Displacement of the filter portion (14) between the first and second portions causes the valve means (28) to be displaced between its closed and open positions.
Abstract:
A filter is provided comprising a filter media element enclosed by an impermeable bag with inlet and outlet ports provided for flow into and out of the bag and through the filter media element contained in the bag. The bag may be constructed of a sheet of plastic material of multiple layers. The filter element may be a stack of filter media disks for depth filtration and adsorption. The filter provides for cleanly change out, with unfiltered fluid being contained in the bag on the upstream side of the filter element within the bag.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge including a liner/valve, or support/valve construction is provided. The liner/valve construction provides for contaminant flow to the filter media during normal filtering operation, and contaminant or sediment retention in the cartridge during a servicing operation. The preferred liner/valve construction includes an outer support having a flexible sheet valve positioned therein. The preferred sheet valve includes a plurality of cut valves. Methods of construction, assembly and use are provided.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a filter assembly including an outer housing, and a removable filter insert that fits within the housing. The filter insert includes a generally cylindrical filter element. An insert body is connected to the filter element. The insert body includes a top end cap in which a top end of the filter element is potted, and a bottom end cap in which a bottom end of the filter element is potted. The insert body also includes a cylindrical liner or wall that surrounds the filter element. The cylindrical liner is spaced-apart from the filter element such that an annular flow passageway is defined between the cylindrical liner and the filter element. The outer wall is configured to prevent contaminants from escaping from the filter insert and contaminating the inside of the housing.
