PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic atomization device capable of adjusting cooling state of a discharge electrode without controlling a cooling part.SOLUTION: The electrostatic atomization device includes: the discharge electrode 2; the cooling part 1 for cooling the discharge electrode 2; and a high voltage applying part 4 for applying a high voltage to the discharge electrode 2. The electrostatic atomization device generates dew condensation water W on the surface of the discharge electrode 2 by cooling the discharge electrode 2 at the cooling part 1. The electrostatic atomization device further generates charged fine particle water M by applying the high voltage to the discharge electrode 2 at the high electrode applying part 4 and discharging thereof at a leading end part of the discharge electrode 2 to atomize the dew condensation water W held by the discharge electrode 2. In a vicinity of the base end part of the discharge electrode 2, a heat capacity adjusting member 5 capable of exchanging heat with the discharge electrode 2 through the condensation water W generated on the surface of the discharge electrode 2.

The invention relates to a method of aligning magnetic flakes, which includes: coating a substrate with a carrier having the flakes dispersed therein, moving the substrate in a magnetic field so as to align the flakes along force lines of the magnetic field in the absence of an effect from a solidifying means, and at least partially solidifying the carrier using a solidifying means while further moving the substrate in the magnetic field so as to secure the magnetic flakes in the carrier while the magnetic field maintains alignment of the magnetic flakes.

Methods that allow independently applied pressures to a BGE reservoir and a sample reservoir for pressure-driven injection that can inject a discrete sample plug into a separation channel that does not require voltage applied to the sample reservoir and can allow for in-channel focusing methods to be used. The methods are particularly suitable for use with a mass spectrometer.

The invention relates to an image printed on a substrate, the image comprising: a first image portion having a first plurality of magnetic flakes aligned so as to reflect light in a first direction; and a second image portion adjacent to the first image portion having a second plurality of magnetic flakes aligned so as to reflect light in a second direction, the first image portion appearing lighter than the second image portion when viewed from a first viewing direction and the first image portion appearing darker than the second image portion when viewed from a second viewing direction.

A system for electrostatic painting of metallic manufactured articles comprises a conveyor system for a plurality of hangers (18) designed to carry the metallic manufactured articles (19) and a painting device (16) for the manufactured articles (19) and an oven (15) traversed by said conveyor system. The conveyor system comprises a first conveyor (11) for accumulation outside of the oven (15) for loading of the hangers (18), a second conveyor (13) for accumulation outside of the oven (15) for unloading of the hangers (18), a third conveyor (12) for accumulation inside the oven (15), and a fourth conveyor (14) connecting the first three conveyors (11, 12, 13) for transfer of the hangers (18) among them. A method for electrostatic painting of metallic manufactured articles making use of the above mentioned system.

A central controller for a powder coating system has a single processor connected to a memory, a gun controller input/output device and gun control logic for controlling a characteristic of a spray gun. An air flow controller input/output device and air flow control logic for controlling a characteristic of a pump providing air flow may also be included. A process input/output device for electrically communicating with a process input or a process output may also be included. Part identification and tracking logic, gun triggering logic, gun movement logic, booth control logic, part profiling logic and system monitoring and logging logic may also be included.
