Abstract:
A treatment equipment, which is intended to be installed in connection with a moving surface. The treatment equipment includes a frame and a blade holder formed from composite material as a single piece and connected to the frame. In addition, a blade is fitted to the blade holder, the bevelled edge belonging to which is arranged to be brought into contact with the moving surface by moving the blade holder. In the blade holder, there is also a separate backing blade, which is fitted at one edge into the blade holder, the other edge extending closer than the blade holder to the said bevelled edge.
Abstract:
A support beam for a long functional unit, specifically in a paper and/or coating machine, including a long hollow body having a round or polygonal cross section and manufactured from a fiber reinforced material which was produced in a winding process, whereby the invention provides that the fiber reinforced material is one having a modulus of elasticity of >100 Gpa, and a heat expansion of null2null10null6 1/null K in its longitudinal direction, as well as a fiber orientation whereby a first fiber content of 70% to 90% is approximately parallel to the longitudinal direction and a remaining second fiber content is aligned in the circumferential direction.
Abstract:
An applicator for direct or indirect application of a liquid or pasty medium on a traveling material web includes a support beam, a mating roll opposing the support beam, and a doctor element extending across the width of the mating roll and detachably fixed on the support beam via a holder. The holder includes an actuator and a pressure apparatus operable and brought in contact (K) with the doctor element by the actuator, for pressing the doctor element on an abutment surface. The lever type pressure apparatus is disposed in a region between the mating roll and the support beam, and includes at least one elastic spring element acting directly or indirectly on the lever type pressure apparatus, against the reset force of which spring element acts the actuator upon its activation, and which spring element, upon deactivation of the actuator, lifts by its reset force the contact (K) between the pressure apparatus and the doctor element, releasing the contact (K).
Abstract:
A doctoring apparatus includes a doctor blade defining a width and thickness. A support beam supports the doctor blade. A blade mounting includes at least one clamping part for clamping the doctor blade. The clamping part provides flexible mounting of the doctor blade in a transverse direction to the doctor blade and generally rigid mounting of the doctor blade in a direction corresponding to the doctor blade width.
Abstract:
A coating mechanism for coating continuous webs of product, especially paper products, comprising a support member having a coating blade supported thereon by a clamping device, the coating blade having a coating surface and a coating edge. The coating blade and the web of product form therebetween an application slot, and the clamping device includes an expansible pressure member adapted to contain a pressure medium. A pressure chamber is installed on the support member and is tiltable about an axis disposed between the pressure member and the coating blade so as to transfer the expansion force of the pressure member to the coating blade. The pressure chamber has an opening therein and is adapted to supply a coating composition through the opening to the application slot for application by the coating blade onto the web of product.
Abstract:
A doctor blade holder is described that is adapted to accommodate a doctor blade in a slot in the holder and is provided with a resilient means at the base of the slot such that a blade accommodated within the slot is able to move into and out of the slot in response to variations in pressure against the doctoring edge of the doctor blade.
Abstract:
An apparatus for working a wet coating, such as render material, applied to a surface, the apparatus comprising: an actuator arranged to move an arm across a surface having a wet coating applied thereon; a controller configured to move the arm across the surface along a tool path; and a tool head mounted to the arm, the tool head comprising a compliance module and a tool mounted to the compliance module such that the tool is movable in a stroke direction towards the surface relative to the arm. The compliance module comprises a biasing module arranged to urge the tool in the stroke direction to maintain contact between the tool and the wet coating such that the tool works the wet coating as the arm moves across the surface.
