Abstract:
Absorbent members, especially bulked absorbent members, and methods of making the same are disclosed. The absorbent member may be in the form of a unitary absorbent fibrous layer comprising at least some cellulose fibers. The unitary absorbent fibrous layer is at least partially stratified through its thickness. The absorbent member may also have a plurality of discrete deformations, such as depressions and/or apertures in its surfaces. The method involves subjecting a precursor web to at least one cycle (or pass) through a mechanical deformation process. The mechanical deformation process utilizes a first forming member and a second forming member that form a nip therebetween through which the precursor web is passed. The first and second forming members are moving at different speeds relative to each other when they come together to form the nip.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Prägevorrichtung zur Erstellung von doppelreihigen Prägenähten (6,7) und zur Verbindung von zumindest zwei übereinander angeordneten Materialbahnen (5) mittels einer aus Prägewalze (2) und Gegenwalze (3,4) bestehenden Walzenpaares. Hierbei ist zusätzlich ein zweites Walzenpaar (2-4) vorgesehen, wobei jedes der Walzenpaare zum Prägen einer der beiden Reihen (6,7) der doppelreihigen Prägenähte dient.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the embossing of a foil material with printing marks and pre-sized cover members for food containers (26), said embossing being partly carried out by means of sensors and by means of the regulated tensile force of embossing drums. Said partially embossed cover members (24) comprise a smooth surface area (24b) in the region of the container flange (27) and they are embossed in the rest of the surface area. The surface side (24') facing the container (26) can comprise a heat-sealable coating (25), preferably in the region of the width of the container flange (27). The heat-sealable coating (25') can also be applied in the embossed area (24'), so that the entire area (24') of the cover member is covered with a heat-sealable varnish. Partial embossing of the inventive cover members makes the food containers easy to use by the consumer and their embossed area (24a) also allows for satisfying stacking of said containers at the time of storage.

The present invention provides a process which in a preferred embodiment includes the steps of (a) applying a hot melt adhesive to a heated roll rotating at an intitial tangential speed; (b) milling the adhesive to a reduced thickness and accelerating said adhesive through a series of metering gaps between a plurality of adjacent heated glue rolls; (c) applying the adhesive to a conformable glue appication roll rotating at a tangential line speed which is higher than the initial tangential speed; (d) applying the adhesive to a first patterned embossing roll which is engaged with a second patterned embossing roll having a complementary pattern to the first embossing roll, the embossing rolls being heated; (e) passing a web of sheet material between the first and second embossing rolls at the tangential line speed to simultaneously emboss the web and apply the adhesive to the web, such that the adhesive forms an adhesive pattern between embossments; (f) transferring the web from the second embossing roll to the first embossing roll; (g) stripping the web from the first embossing roll; and (h) cooling the web.

본 발명은 수용성 바인더가 함침되어 있는 원지시트를 엔보싱 가공할 때, 원지시트가 엠보싱 장치에 부착되는 문제점을 해결하는 동시에, 제조가 간단하고 제조비용도 저렴하며, 또한 사용 후에 피청소부 건조면에 종이가루가 남을 우려가 없는 물분해 종이의 제조방법을 제공한다. 수용성 바인더가 함침되어 있지 않은 비습윤 상태에 있는 원지시트(2)에 엠보싱 가공을 실시하고, 다수의 요철체(12)에 의한 벌크부(17)를 원지시트(2)에 형성하며, 상기 벌크부(17)를 형성하여 이루어지는 원지시트(2)에 원지시트(2)의 외면측에서 수용성 바인더 용액(5)을 분무하여 상기 수용성 바인더 용액(5)을 원지시트(2)에 함침시키고, 수용성 바인더 용액(5)을 함침시킨 원지시트(2)를 건조시키며, 건조 후에 원지시트(2)를 접고, 접은 원지시트(2)에 대하여 수성약제 용액을 분무하여 상기 수성약제 용액을 원지시트(2)에 함침시켜서 물분해 종이를 제조한다.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for satin-finishing and embossing a foil which improves aesthetic impression and brings about an optimum minute structure. SOLUTION: The apparatus for satin finishing and embossing about metallic coating or surface treating foil 9 for packing comprises three embossing rolls R1, R2, and R3 cooperating with each other. The foil 9 for packaging receives pressure, and passes between the first and second rolls and between the first and third rolls. A first driven roll R1 has a row of cogs made of individual cogs 5 disposed as a uniform lattice. The other two rolls R3 and R2 have surface structures different from that of the first roll. At least one roll R3 of additional rolls has a structure element 11 disposed different from the lattice on the first roll. Such disposition effectively destroys paper base material of the foil, and improves the characteristics of the surface.
