Abstract:
A system for dispensing items comprising a base and at least one wheel rotatably coupled to the base. There is also at least one actuator slidably disposed the wheel. This actuator is for retaining the item to be dispensed from the system. There is also at least one optical recognition system disposed adjacent to the wheel. This optical recognition system is for identifying at least one characteristic of the item to be dispensed to selectively actuate the actuator to dispense the item to be dispensed. The optical recognition system can be in the form of a camera or an electric eye to recognize a visual feature of an item to be dispensed such as a tablet or a pill.
Abstract:
At least one solid drug form is fed into a capsule, housed inside a pocket on a first conveyor movable along an endless first path extending in a given first plane, by means of a seat on a second conveyor movable along an endless second path extending in a second plane parallel to the first plane; the seat receiving the solid form from a vibratory distributor plate, and releasing the solid form to the pocket.
Abstract:
An input device delivers objects one at a time to a transfer station next to a conveyor extending in a transport direction. A cassette defines an upwardly open stack well shaped to receive the objects and has a floor. The cassette is held in an upstream stack-forming position underneath the input device while the input device drops the objects one at a time into the well, and the floor of the cassette is stepped downward each time an object is dropped into the well by a distance generally equal to a vertical height of the object. When a predetermined number of the objects has been dropped into the well, the cassette is displaced downstream out of the upstream stack-forming position synchronously with the conveyor at the transport speed while the stack of objects in the well is pushed transversely of the direction out of the well into the conveyor.
Abstract:
A device for the precise distribution of items such as tablets. This device can include a base, a container, a plurality of distribution channels and a plurality of springs disposed adjacent to the distribution channels. The device can also include a plurality of push pins and cams for driving the push pins up. The base includes a wheel which contains the distribution channels. The springs are coupled to the wheel adjacent to the distribution channels. These springs are controlled by the push pins which drive against the springs to push the springs away from the distribution channels. The cams trigger the movement of the push pins at particular locations on the base so that as the wheel rotates, the push pins cross over the cams wherein the cams drive the push pins up allowing a tablet to simultaneously enter and leave the distribution channel. This movement of the wheel allows precise distribution of tablets out of the device and into receiving systems.
Abstract:
A hopper releases articles onto a selecting sieve which selects and keeps complying articles, separating them from defective and/or fragmented ones and from powders. A linear conveyor, situated downstream of the selecting sieve, receives the complying articles for sending them, in an orderly way, to inlets of a plurality of feeding channels. A collecting vessel is situated near the inlets and collects the exceeding articles accumulated near the inlets. A transferring container receives the exceeding articles coming from the collecting vessel and transfers them upstream of the selecting sieve.
Abstract:
In a machine for filling capsules, a hopper containing the capsules is mounted to rotate about a respective first axis of rotation, so as to move about the first axis a number of feed channels, each of which receives the capsules successively from the hopper, and has a longitudinal second axis forming an angle of other than 90null with a reference plane perpendicular to the first axis.
Abstract:
An apparatus (10) for orienting and loading solid compact medicaments, such as solid compact medicaments (A), into a carrier device (C) comprises a feeder (12) having a plurality of elongated first channels (20) through which the solid compact medicaments travel with an acute angle relative to a predetermined orientation of the carrier device (C). An orienting member (32) cooperating with the feeder (12) reorients the solid compact medicaments to the predetermined orientation as they exit the feeder (12). In an alternative embodiment, a pitch changing means (42) in fluid communications with the orienting means (32) provides for final orientation of the solid compact medicaments prior to loading in the carrier device (C).
Abstract:
A system, method, and apparatus for the routing of totes and bottles within a pharmacy fulfillment center are disclosed. The system, method, and apparatus are configured to transmit routing tables from an application server to station controllers (e.g., PLCs) to enable each station to locally make a routing decision. Since the routing logic is locally stored at each station, the controllers do not need to transmit request messages to the server every time a tote or bottle is scanned. The system, method, and apparatus increase conveyor throughput by enabling each station to make a routing decision without having to wait for a response from a server.
Abstract:
A pharmaceutical order processing system for processing a plurality of pharmaceutical containers includes a container repository, a container selector, an order consolidator transporter and an order consolidator. The container repository supports the pharmaceutical containers. The container selector has a picker to pick the pharmaceutical containers from the pharmaceutical container repository. The container selector includes a carriage supporting the picker and movable relative to the container repository to move the picker around the container repository. The order consolidator receives the pharmaceutical containers and places the pharmaceutical containers in a shipping package. The order consolidator transporter receives the pharmaceutical containers after they have been picked by the picker and transports the pharmaceutical containers toward the order consolidator.
Abstract:
A rotor (4) is received rotatably in a cassette body (3) for receiving tablets. The rotor comprises a tablet guiding path (4b) formed between a slanted inner face (6a) of the cassette body and a slanted outer face (22a) of the rotor for guiding the tablets received in the cassette body to a tablet discharging hole (7) disposed to the cassette body. The rotor comprises a separating member (8) disposed above the tablet discharging hole of the cassette body, a tablet supporting pedestal (53) disposed elevatably to the tablet guiding path for supporting the tablet at the bottom position in the tablet guiding path and a height adjustment mechanism (50) for adjusting a tablet discharging height between the tablet supporting pedestal and the separating member. The height adjustment mechanism makes the tablet supporting pedestal elevate to a direction inclined to a rotation shaft of the rotor along the tablet guiding path.
