    Abstract: The present invention provides structure of steel cord in heavy duty tires, in which the adhesive strength between filament and rubber, and penetrating property of rubber are improved by making the twist direction of core and strand different in the steel cord comprising core and strand filament, and by making the pitch or the twist period of core and strand different. In particular, this structure is applied to steel cord of 3+8*d(HT) which is used in heavy duty tires. In this application, twist direction of core filament is in the S direction and twist direction of strand filament is in the Z direction, and the ratio of the pitch of core filament (CP) and the pitch of strand filament (SP) is between 0.50 and 0.94.

The outer strand has wires located to enclose the nine wires of the core strand, twisted in a direction reverse to the twisting direction of the core strand, and having a clearance between them.

    Abstract: A wireline cable (1) comprises inner (10) and outer (20) armour layers formed from wires or strips of armour material wound onto a core (3), with at least one roving (15, 25) disposed between the armour layers (10, 20). The roving (15, 25) typically comprises a bundle of continuous fibres arranged parallel to the strips of armour material, and radially spaced between the armour layers (10, 20). Typically the roving nests in a valley between peaks in each armour layer (10, 20).
