Die Erfindung betrifft ein matten- oder plattenförmiges Verlegeelement aus Kunststoff oder aus einem Kunststoff enthaltenden Kompositmaterial. Das Verlegeelement weist an mindestens zwei seiner Außenkanten ein Verbindungsmittel auf, mittels welchem es mit gleichartigen Verlegeelementen zur Ausbildung eines Flächenbelags verbindbar ist. Die Verbindungsmittel sind durch eine Kombination aus einem Stufenfalz (1) und aus mindestens einem mit einem komplementären Teil (3) in Eingriff zu bringenden Teil (2) eines Nut-Feder-Systems (2, 3) ausgebildet.

Apparatus for sealing the gap between adjacent interconnecting mats in a reusable load- supporting surface deployed on the ground includes a seal member. The seal member includes an elongated main body and an elongated planar tail extending outwardly therefrom. The main body is positionable in the gap and the tail is configured to extend into at least a portion of the interface formed between upper and lower lips of the adjacent mats.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Randstein für Bodenbeläge, insbesondere einen Bordstein (200), welcher einen durchgehenden Kanal (202) zur Aufnahme einer Versorgungsleitung für Strom, Gas, Wasser oder dergleichen enthält. Optional kann ein Seitenabzweig (204) dieses Kanals vorgesehen sein, an welchem Versorgungsleitungen zu- oder abgeführt werden können. Der Seitenabzweig kann insbesondere zu einer Montageplatteform (203) führen, an welcher Einrichtungen wie beispielsweise eine Elektro-Tankstation montiert werden können.

An irregular, tessellated building unit comprises x primary elements, wherein x is an integer equal to or greater than 1. The primary element (20) is a rotational tessellation having a plural pairs of sides extending in a generally radial direction from plural vertices, respectively. In each pair, the two sides are rotationally spaced by an angle that is divided evenly into 360 degrees. Preferably, all of the sides are irregularly shaped, but one or more sides could be wholly or partially straight. Optionally, spacers are provided on the sides of each unit. A wide variety of units may be constructed having different numbers and arrangements of primary elements (20). As all the units are combinations of primary elements (20), they readily mate with each other. A surface covering (10) comprises a multiplicity of units assembled to form a continuous surface without overlap between units and without substantial gaps.
