Abstract:
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of obtaining excellent engine performance with respect to respective fuel when a plurality of types of fuel of which combustion speed is different are used, in a variable compression ratio internal combustion engine of which compression ratio can be changed. SOLUTION: In this variable compression ratio internal combustion engine, the compression ratio of the internal combustion engine can be changed, and the plurality of types of fuel of which combustion speed is different, such as gasoline and hydrogen, are injected from a plurality of fuel injection valves. In accordance with fuel to be used, a map reading out the compression ratio to be targeted by the internal combustion engine is switched to suppress generation of knocking etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
A portable flexible fuel generator, having an engine, includes: a cylinder and a spark plug in the cylinder, a primary fuel tank fluidly connected to the cylinder, an air intake path fluidly connecting atmosphere to the cylinder, a start module including a starting fuel tank holder and a starting fuel line, where the starting fuel line is fluidly connected to the air intake path, a coolant path which provide a flow path for coolant to cool the cylinder, and a thermal controller along the coolant path. Furthermore, the engine has full cylinder cooling.
Abstract:
A system to supply hydrogen-rich fuel to an internal combustion engine, whereby a hydrogen-rich gas is produced from a liquid raw fuel by a hydrogen generator. The exhaust line of the internal combustion engine contains an exhaust purification system, such as a DeNOx catalytic converter, which is at least temporarily supplied with hydrogen-rich gas through a bypass line. In addition, the exhaust line is in thermal contact with the hydrogen generator in order to recover thermal energy.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of controlling the gas pressure in a dual fluid injection system wherein the gas is used to deliver a metered quantity of fuel to a combustion chamber (60) of an internal combustion engine (20). On detection of an abnormal fuel supply condition, gas pressure in the fuel injection system is regulated to a level less than the fuel pressure deliverable by a fuel supply system of the engine (20) under the abnormal fuel supply condition. In this way, fuel may be delivered as required to the dual fluid fuel injection system.
Abstract:
A vehicle fuel tank arrangement (20) for dual fuels includes a petrol tank portion (3) of moulded material which includes a recess (21) for receiving and retaining a gas tank (6) for holding gas under pressure. The gas allows dual storage capacity within a space normally occupied by a petrol tank alone. The petrol tank portion gives impact protection to the gas tank (6).
