Abstract:
A communication device configured to be connected with both a public switched telephone network and an IP network. The communication device may comprise an input allowing unit configured to allow a user to input specific identification information for the public switched telephone network, a judging unit configured to judge whether or not the communication device itself is in a specific state that is capable of executing a first communication process of communicating via the IP network using IP identification information for the IP network, and a communication unit configured to execute the first communication process, in a first case where the communication device is judged as being in the specific state, and execute a second communication process of communicating via the public switched telephone network, in a second case where the communication device is judged as not being in the specific state.
Abstract:
A communication device may execute a first type of determination process based on a first type of determination standard, and execute a second type of determination process based on a second type of determination standard. The communication device may perform communication in accordance with a first communication scheme, if determined in the first and second types of determination process that the communication device can perform communication. The communication device may perform communication in accordance with a second communication scheme, if determined in the first type of determination process that the communication device can not perform communication. The communication device may notify specific information, if determined in the second type of determination process that the communication device can not perform communication, and may not notify, if determined in the first type of determination process that the communication device can not perform communication.
Abstract:
A multifunction peripheral includes two types of communication parts that communicate based on communication destination information, a communication designation information database in which identification information are stored, and a post-process controller that determines that the communication destination information for a same destination is updated when either one of the communication destination information in the communication destination information database is updated, and determines that the communication destination information for another destination is assigned to the identification information when both of the communication destination information in the communication destination information database are updated.

Abstract:
A system and method for enabling routing of data on a network based on a portion of data accessed from a non-network enabled device is disclosed. The technology includes a method for enabling routing of data on a network based on a portion of data accessed from a non-network enabled device. The method includes detecting a non-network enabled device locally coupled to a first computer system, the first computer system coupled to the network. The method further includes enabling routing of data through the non-network enabled device to a second computer system coupled to the network by using the first computer system as a communication interface between the non-network enabled device and the second computer system wherein the second computer system is automatically identified based on recognizing a portion of the data as a routing destination.
Abstract:
A method for ensuring reliable transmission of a DCN signal by a gateway is disclosed. When acting as a sending gateway, the gateway packs a DCN signal detected into an IFP packet and sends the IFP packet to the IP side, then, reports a fax end event to a Soft Switch after a designated delay period; and the Soft Switch issues a State Switching Command for switching the two gateways back to voice state after receiving the fax end event. When acting as a receiving gateway, the gateway modulates a DCN signal detected and sends the modulated DCN signal to a receiving facsimile machine; if a switching command issued by a Soft Switch is received during sending the DCN signal, the gateway delays the switching; if the gateway has not received a switching command after the DCN data is sent, the gateway initiatively reports a fax end event.
Abstract:
The telecommunication system for communication between PSTN and analog FAXes and/or analog phones by using separated passes for data and synchronization clock flow.
Abstract:
A facsimile device 10 serving as a transmission device of the present invention has a maintenance information base (MIB) 23a storing address data. When the facsimile device 10 receives a SNMP-based packet including a GET command, the address data is retrieved and transmitted to an external device 3. When the facsimile device 10 receives a SNMP-based packet including a SET command, address data included in the packet is retrieved and registered into the MIB 23a.
Abstract:
To reduce workload on an Internet facsimile machine on the transmission side, and to execute a retransmission processing promptly and reliably, an electronic mail server device includes a function for receiving an electronic mail, a function for transmitting the received electronic mail to the Internet facsimile machine of a destination via the Internet, and a function for carrying out a facsimile transmission of the image data via a public telephone network. The electronic mail server device also includes a RAM which stores an address/number corresponding table which corresponds the electronic mail address and the facsimile number of the Internet facsimile machine of the destination. When receiving the electronic mail including the image data, and failing to transmit the electronic mail including the image data to the Internet facsimile machine of the destination, a main control unit carries out a facsimile transmission of the image data of the electronic mail to the Internet facsimile machine of the destination via the public telephone network in accordance with the facsimile number corresponding to the electronic mail address of the Internet facsimile machine of the destination.
Abstract:
A communication control method of an Internet facsimile may provide transmitting and receiving document information via the Internet and transmitting and receiving facsimile image information via a public switched telephone network. The method may include receiving a relay result returned from a relay broadcast distribution station in the form of an electronic mail if a transmission error occurs in transmitting information from the Internet facsimile to a destination via the Internet. Based on the received relay result, a communication management report may be prepared that indicates the occurrence of the error if the error occurs. An image corresponding to the information may be attached to the report. The report may be output in the form of an electronic mail. An Internet facsimile may include a communication section, a communication management report preparation section, an image attaching section, and a communication management report output section, which carry out such a method.
