Abstract:
An information processing apparatus configured to connected via a network to a one or a plurality of remote apparatuses each of which processes information. The information processing apparatus includes a detection unit for detecting that an imaging apparatus is connected thereto, a determination unit for determining, according to processing to be performed on media data photographed by the imaging apparatus, whether the processing is performed by the information processing apparatus, an execution instruction unit for issuing, when the determination unit determines that the processing is not performed by the information processing apparatus, an execution instruction to the remote apparatus capable of performing the processing to perform the processing on the media data, and a media data receiving unit for receiving from the remote apparatus to which the execution instruction is issued, the media data on which the processing is performed.
Abstract:
The relaying device may receive folder selecting instruction information from the image processing device. The relaying device may receive folder identifying information and image data identifying information from the server. The relaying device may generate first selection screen data, in a case where it is determined that one or more image data and one or more subfolders are stored in the selected folder. The relaying device may send the first selection screen data to the image processing device. The relaying device may generate second selection screen data in a case where accessing image selecting instruction information is received. The relaying device may send the second selection screen data to the image processing device. The relaying device may execute a process for causing the image processing device to acquire selected image data in a case where image data selecting instruction information is received from the image processing device.
Abstract:
A communication system includes a data processing device that communicates with a communication device via a first transmission link. The communication device includes a first communication controller that controls communication with the data processing device via the first transmission link, and a second communication controller that controls communication via a second transmission link which is different from the first transmission link. The communication device also includes a transmitter that transmits transmission data sent via the first transmission link through the second transmission link, a canceller that cancels transmission of the transmission data through the second transmission link upon receiving a canceling command via the first transmission link, and an observer that observes whether the communication via the first transmission link, which transmits the transmission data to the communication device, is enabled, in response to receiving the transmission data via the first transmission link.
Abstract:
In an image display device, a method of communicating over a network an invitation to use the image display device to at least one image source connected to the network is provided. The method may include forming an invitation message, wherein the invitation message contains an invitation for an image source to connect to the image display device to use a service on the image display device, and sending the invitation message to a multicasting address on the network.
Abstract:
A portable, automated contractual image dealer and transmitter provides a platform capable of managing, manipulating, storing, and transmitting digital media files across a wide array of transmission means and protocols. In addition, the capability to provide media for sale or distribution from remote locations, including the ability to choose from a number of possible buyers based on selected criteria and to remotely establish binding purchasing and/or image transferal relationships, is potentially beneficial for an array of media applications. In one embodiment, the transmitter may be employed by photographers, photojournalists, and/or the like to rapidly process, edit, and send photographs or video to multiple news agencies, newspapers, magazines, television studios, websites, and/or the like while maintaining control over their photographs by allowing them to send reduced quality and watermarked proofs. The transmitter may be configured to allow users to first generate and transmit low-resolution preview images.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a communication system includes a first communication control apparatus and a second communication control apparatus. The first communication control apparatus includes an acquiring unit, a generating unit, and a transferring unit. The second communication control apparatus includes a receiving unit and a processing unit. The acquiring unit acquires a computer file. The generating unit generates transfer information including the computer file and added information indicating a content of processing designated by a user of the first communication control apparatus from among plural contents of processing relating to the computer file. The transferring unit transfers the transfer information to the second communication control apparatus. The receiving unit receives the transfer information. The processing unit performs processing on the computer file included in the transfer information in accordance with the content of processing indicated by the added information included in the transfer information.
Abstract:
A communication device for interconnecting a digital camera to a communication network for downloading data to a remote computer. The device has a network communication port for establishing communication with a network via a pre-defined protocol and communication mode, and has a camera communication port such as a serial, parallel, SCSI, USB or Irda-port that imitates the back end application of a PC, for connection to a digital camera for sending and receiving data to and from the camera. The camera communication port is also used for input of programming and setup data to the communication device from a PC. The device can be programmed to operate on the data directly, such as in the case of data for storage or operational direction, and/or direct the data to the camera. The device may also have a Smart card socket into which a user can insert a card to input data, such as user and camera I.D., user authorization, image marking, camera operational parameters, remote computer/destination address, etc. The device can be programmed to perform encryption, authentication, watermarking and fingerprinting procedures, as well as structuring the data for transmission over a particular network, and to automatically perform operations, such as at specific times or in response to data input.
Abstract:
A multi-function device for performing, at least, telephone communication and facsimile functions, comprising: a main unit, a wireless telephone, and a charger for charging a battery of the wireless telephone. The charger can be fixed to the main unit and can be separated from the main unit. When the charger is fixed to the main unit, the battery of the wireless telephone can be charged in the position that is fixed to the main unit. Furthermore, if the charger is placed in a position separated from the main unit, the battery of the wireless telephone can be charged in that position. That is, the charger and the wireless telephone can be utilized even when the charger has been removed from the main unit.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a multimedia system using a mobile communication terminal and an external connection device for the same. The multimedia system uses a video/audio output device, a peripheral device, and an external connection device. The multimedia system includes a mobile communication terminal having a video/audio output function and a peripheral device control function so that the mobile communication terminal outputs images and sounds by using the video/audio output device and controls the peripheral device; and an external connection device for connecting the mobile communication terminal to the video/audio output device and the peripheral device, relaying the images and sounds from the mobile communication terminal to the video/audio output device, and relaying data transmitted/received between the mobile communication terminal and the peripheral device. When multimedia data is reproduced by using a mobile communication terminal, it is easily connected to an external video/audio output device (e.g. a TV) or a peripheral device (e.g. a computer, a mouse, a joystick) to construct a multimedia system.
