Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus that reads a plurality of images without troublesome operations by a user, in which a small-size light source with a small electric power consumption is used as an illumination light source used for reading an image of a transparent original. SOLUTION: A surface illumination light source having a size large enough to illuminate one image among a plurality of images included in a transparent original is moved sequentially to positions at which the illumination light source can illuminate the respective images. Each image is read while the illumination light source is kept stationary at the position of the image. In addition, at the position of each image, the transparent original is pressed against an original table of the image reading apparatus. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic system, photographic video image system or photographic printer effectively utilizing a data recording area on a photographic film. SOLUTION: A photographic video image system includes a structure of a photographic printer and comprises an image transformation element that transforms an image on a photographic film into a video signal. A frame position indicator comprised of aspect ratio information relating to a size of an exposed frame and a pore, an optical signal or an magnetic signal is recorded on the film. The frame position indicator and the aspect ratio information are detected, and a film feeding action and a transforming action from an optical image to a video signal are controlled based on them. A user of the system is capable of recording order information on the film to designate the aspect ratio of a photographic print to be created and the number of prints. When visually displaying a video signal prior to producing the photographic print, the order information can be superimposed and displayed as a menu. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
A completely passive adapter for scanning transparent images in a reflective scanner. Mirrors are used to capture light from a lamp that is internal to the scanner and to reflect that light thought a transparent image along the light path required by internal scanner optics. For larger images, a lens is added to capture additional light. Different embodiments of the adapter accommodate variation in angles of optical paths and offset between the light source path and the light detection path. Embodiments are provided having two tilted mirrors, two mirrors plus an optical wedge, four mirrors, and seven mirrors. An optional graduated density optical filter may be added to compensate for nonuniform illumination.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system to accurately position films of two or more sizes, and remove distortion in an internal drum laser scanner assembly. SOLUTION: A device which comprises two or more slider assemblies, and positions the films in the drum scanner assembly, is provided with a first and a second horizontal end parts, a third and a fourth curvature side ends connected between the first and the second ends 22, 24, a curvature surface which forms a route of the curvature film from the first end to the second end, a curvature film platen 20 of concave shape arranged horizontally, and a film engaging member which is mounted relating to the platen, and is engaged with the carried film by the film platen. The film engaging member comprises a slider assembly which independently slides in the slider assembly, and a means which moves the slider assembly according to the size of the carrying film on the platen so as to arrange the all film engaging member along the platen in perpendicular direction against the film route.
