Abstract:
According to one embodiment of the invention, a camera (110) determines whether to acquire an image (e.g., automatically), determines whether to store the acquired image, and determines how to store the acquired image.

Abstract:
An image photographing apparatus is capable of photographing a still image and a motion picture through separate, dedicated lenses. The image photographing apparatus has a first lens of a first camera part for photographing a motion picture, a second lens of a second camera part for photographing a still image, a mode selection switch for selecting one of a motion picture mode for photographing the motion picture through the first lens and a still-image mode for photographing the still image through the second lens, and a controller for selectively driving one of the first and the second camera parts according to the mode selected by the mode selection switch.
Abstract:
A photographing apparatus capable of automatically setting a resolution and a method thereof. The photographing apparatus has a digital video camera unit (202) to photograph a motion picture, a DVC signal processing block (112), first and second resolution converting units (171, 172) to convert the digital motion picture data to first and second resolutions, respectively, first and second compressing units (182, 183) to compress the output data from the first and second resolution converting units (171, 172) to first and second format data, first and second recording media (121, 122) to store first and second format data, respectively, a recording medium selecting switch (131) to select one among the first and second recording media (121, 122), and a control unit (140) to control such that the digital motion picture data can be transmitted to one among the first and second resolution converting units (171, 172). Accordingly, the memory space of the recording medium can be used efficiently, and the user is not inconvenienced by having to set the resolution every time he/she selects the recording medium to use.
Abstract:
Digital image data can be edited easily to reflect a preference or an intention of a user. Sizes of free spaces and used spaces of recording media of different types are read and displayed on a display device by using the same scale for the same sizes. By enabling the user to visually confirm the sizes in this manner, the digital image data sets can be edited.
Abstract:
An information signal processing apparatus according to the present invention is an apparatus for processing an information signal. The apparatus is arranged to temporarily store information data inputted thereinto and move, after a predetermined amount of information data is stored, a moving element of a recording medium into which the information data is to be recorded, so that it is possible to stably execute continuous recording of the information signal by means of a simple arrangement with a small power consumption.

Abstract:
The camera is equipped to enable additional information such as an operation characteristic of the camera to be recorded into and reproduced from a removable record medium (16). A pickup image signal is picked up by a CCD image sensor (4,5) and converted into a digital signal by an analog to digital converter (9). The digital signal is temporarily stored into a digital memory (11) and written onto a removable optical disk apparatus (16). The digital electronic still camera further comprises an additional information recording and reproducing circuit (15) for recording and reproducing additional information such as an operation characteristic of the camera onto or from the optical disk apparatus.
