A fuel enrichment device includes a body forming a first fuel chamber and a second fuel chamber. The second fuel chamber is adapted to contain a predetermined amount of enriching fuel to be provided to an engine. A normally open valve connects the first fuel chamber to the second fuel chamber. A normally closed valve for controls the provision of enriching fuel to the engine. The normally closed valve is open whenever the normally open valve is closed.

An automatic choke for a small internal combustion engine uses an air vane (28) responsive to an air flow created by a radial fan (20) to position the choke valve (40) during engine starting. A return spring (44) or gravity may be used to reset the automatic choke after the engine has been stopped. The automatic choke includes a thermally-responsive device (49) that keeps the choke at least partially open during hot restarts of the engine.

A monofuel supply system (4) for an endothermic motor (32) powered with alternative fuel such as LPG, methane, hydrogen and the like, comprising a flow adjustment device (12) having a device body (16) provided with a main intake pipe (20), at least one shutter (24) intercepting and occluding at least partially the main intake pipe (20), and a delivery pipe (28) located downstream of the main intake pipe (20), a tank (36) of alternative fuel, wherein the main intake pipe (20) receives a main flow comprising a supporter of combustion and an alternative fuel, coming from said tank (36), mixed according to a first titre (al). Advantageously, the system (4) comprises a secondary intake pipe (44), for inputting a secondary flow, different from the main flow, directly into the delivery pipe (28) bypassing the shutter (24), and is provided with an enrichment diffuser (48) of alternative fuel, in fluid connection with said tank (36), so that it enriches with fuel the secondary flow and sends it to the delivery pipe (28) with a second titre (a2) which is richer in fuel than the first titre (al) of the main flow.

A manual pull-cord start system of a combustion engine has a remote start assist device such as a choke (50) of a carburetor (34) or a compression relief valve that is automatically actuated upon the initial pull of a pull-cord of a recoil starter assembly (22). The assembly (22) has a releasable coupling which intermittently engages a recoil pulley (26) of the recoil starter assembly about which the cord (24) is wound. Upon the initial pull of the cord (24), a shuttle (58) of the coupling moves generally with the pulley (26), to move a linkage connected to actuate the external start assist device. Upon release of the cord (24), the shuttle (58) and the remote start assist device automatically return to their normal state during engine operation.

A control mechanism for operating the two choke valves(2,'2) includes a lost-motion connection so that the main choke valve(2) is at the lst. to be moved toward closed position, for cold starting of the engine. The control mechanism may be operated either manually or automatically under the control of a bimetal element. when the starting engine reaches a state of complete firing, withstable rpm, both choke valves are opened to the predetermined pull-down angles.
