Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for managing a communication mode by a computer by using a widget. SOLUTION: The method includes the steps for: (A) presenting a set of connected graphical elements via a graphical user interface (GUI), wherein the set of the connected graphical elements represents communication sessions including a plurality of communication users, and each of the graphical elements displays a user, further including a graphical sub-element showing the details of the user's communication; (B) receiving user input associated with a set of the connected graphical elements, wherein the user input includes an action associated with the communication sessions; and (C) performing the action based on the received user input that is input. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for high-speed frame transfer, and a computer program product. SOLUTION: A node tries to transmit frames which are specified as time sensitive service quality (TSQ) frames that are to be transferred at a high speed from a first node to a second node of a plurality of nodes. During transmitting TSQ frames, collision related to the TSQ frames is detected, and the TSQ frames are retransmitted without waiting for the end of a specified back-off period. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for identifying and eliminating the source of background noise in multi-party teleconferences. SOLUTION: There is provided a mechanism that allows participants over a conference call to identify, and then to enable muting or filtering, the participant(s) responsible for introducing the noise, regardless of whether the noise is caused by transmission impairments or by the participant(s) being located in a noisy location. For example, individual users can depress a "test" button that permits each of the participants to be locked one at a time. As a result, the source of the noise is identified. Once the source(s) of the noise is identified, noise reduction can be applied, as needed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with demand for authentication of a subsequent request as long as it meets a predetermined condition when the first request is authenticated. SOLUTION: A proxy server causes an authentication authority to authenticate a client in response to a first SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) request of the client on a connection line. Requests subsequent to the first request that are made over a secure connection are not challenged as long as some predetermined condition is met, that is, as long as connection is not broken, the subsequent requests are on behalf of the same client, the client is not removed from the system, the client's password is not changed, a "safety net" timer does not expire, or there is any other policy that the server chooses to enforce. This eliminates the overhead of constant re-authentication in response to each SIP request. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for automating voice checklists. SOLUTION: A checklist manager generates a voice checklist template, generates a revised voice checklist from the voice checklist template and stores them. A controller sends a request for input for an item in the revised voice checklist, after receiving a response to the request, updates the revised voice checklist with the response, if the revised voice checklist is not complete, sends a request for input for a second item in the revised voice checklist, stores the revised voice checklist in the response to the checklist manager, and determines that the revised voice check list is complete. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platform for a greatly enhanced, multimedia-enabled, customer communication experience. SOLUTION: One exemplary aspect is advanced multimedia communications via OCAP using customer specific profiles resident in the STB for calendar management. Additional aspects relate to invitation management including auto-calendaring, forwarding of an invitation details to a specific destination, conflict resolution, auto-rescheduling, global rescheduling and automatic reminders based on an invitation. Still further aspects relate to enabling confirmation of an appointment based on a received reminder and a technique to confirm an appointment with the ability to forward an appointment confirmed identifier to the appointment setter. Rescheduling routines are also provided for use with the calendaring application. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of setting a user priority in each program and for each user without setting the user's preference (priority) over the entire system. SOLUTION: A user of a computer indicates a desired user interface, and to execute the user interface, options of programs and devices of a computer are selected and set individually for each program. The user shows the user's state. For example, when the user shows a failure of a specific motor function or five sense function, the computer automatically adjusts the program and device in accordance with the needs of the user. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods, devices, and systems for maintaining a SIP survivable network. SOLUTION: SIP endpoints or user agents are adapted to allow to discover and select a controller or a plurality of controllers that the SIP endpoint will register with. Selection of the controller or a plurality of controllers may be based on the relative attributes of the controllers and the needs of the SIP endpoints. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a client communication device/system arranged at an entryway and enabling a visitor to communicate with the occupant of premises, in real time. SOLUTION: The communication device, comprising a display screen and a user-interface, is located in proximity to the entryway to premises and is connected to a communication link. The communication device responds, by displaying the presence information about the occupant of the premises on the display screen via the communication link, and responds to entered information by the visitor by displaying the information entered via the user-interface to the occupant via the communication link. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow at least a combination of feature rich telephony applications by using personalized information and communications preferences stored in a profile in an STB in a structured format or via cookies, facilitating functionally rich communications sessions with the personalized data stored in the STB. SOLUTION: Providing advanced multimedia communications applications using the personalized data resident in the STB could allow an entity to provide, for example, many previously unavailable services and therefore provide considerable new business potential. The personal information stored in the STB can convey many exemplary benefits, such as communications preferences, alternate contact modalities, payment preferences, priority preferences, trusted contacts, personal information, as well as multimedia messaging, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
