    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement gas compressor preventing leak of gas from each compression chamber to a suction chamber via a communication passage at a time of regular operation and suppressing leak of gas between compression chambers adjoining on both side of a vane without requiring high process tolerance.
    SOLUTION: The variable displacement gas compressor 10 is provided with a valve device opening and closing an opening 40 opening on a wall surface 15a of a front side block 15 defining a cylinder chamber 17 which is one end of a communication passage 41 for switching delivery quantity from a compression chamber 22. The valve device includes a valve seat 51 surrounding the opening 40 in an outside of a cylinder chamber 17 and a valve element 43 opening and closing the opening 40 of the valve seat 51. Taper enabling annular line contact is applied on a tip end surface 43a or an end wall surface 48a facing the same. A fitting part 43c of the tip end surface 43a can be fitted in the opening 40 of the valve seat 51, and includes an end surface 43d agreeing with a wall surface 15a at a close position of the valve element 43.
