Abstract:
The present invention relates to the fields of medicine and molecular diagnostics. In particular, it relates to a novel method for the treatment, prevention and/or delay of cancer and to a diagnostic method involving detection of a novel auto-active and intracellular mutant of MET.
Abstract:
Methods of diagnosing colorectal cancer and precursors thereof using miRNA biomarkers are disclosed, together with kits and devices for detecting the biomarkers, and uses of the biomarkers. The biomarkers described are reliably detected in stool and demonstrate significantly different expression levels in colorectal cancer patients when compared to colorectal cancer negative patients.
Abstract:
Novel radiotracer for positron emission tomography (PET) or single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging are described. Specifically, the invention relates to 18 F-labeled afatinib suitable as a PET or SPECT tracer for imaging epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR, erbB1) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (Her2, erbB2), to a precursor compound for use in its synthesis, to methods for the preparation 18 F-iabeled afatinib, as well as to the use thereof in in vivo diagnosis, tumor imaging or patient stratification on the basis of mutational status of EGFR (erbB1) and Her2 (erbB2).
Abstract:
The invention relates to amicroscopic imaging apparatus to provide an image of a sample. The apparatus having an illumination system to provide an illumination beam with radiation;and a sensor constructed and arranged to receive: a first image of a first diffraction pattern created by diffraction of the illumination beam on the sample; a second image of a second diffraction pattern created by diffraction of the illumination beam on the sample. The sensor may be connected with a processor running a program to retrieve phase information from the sample from the first and second image received by the sensor. The illumination system may have a first illumination device to provide the illumination beam with radiation of substantially a first wavelength; and a second illumination device to provide the illumination beam with radiation of substantially a second wavelength different than the first wavelength. The sensor may receive a first image of a first diffraction pattern created by diffraction of the illumination beam with radiation of substantially the first wavelength on the sample; and,a second image of a second diffraction pattern created by diffraction of the illumination beam with radiation of substantially the second wavelength on the sample.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of analysing a blood sample of a subject for the presence of a disease marker, said method comprising the steps of a) extracting nucleic acid from anucleated blood cells in said blood sample to provide an anucleated blood cells-extracted nucleic acid fraction, and b) analysing said anucleated blood cells-extracted nucleic acid fraction for the presence of a disease marker, wherein said disease marker is a disease-specific mutation in a gene of a cell of said subject, or wherein said disease marker is a disease-specific expression profile of genes of a cell of said subject.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for identifying Leukemic stem cells (LSC), based on measurement of the presence of a specific set of markers. The invention further relates to a container for use in performing the method. Also provided is application of the method for predicting response to therapy and/or chance of relapse of Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and application of the method in the context of screening for compounds that specifically eradicate Leukemic cells and not benign cells.
