Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the biological treatment of nitrogen in the form of ammonium in wastewater, by nitritation in a biological reactor, comprising: at least one step a of aerating the biological reactor containing the wastewater to be treated, at least one step b of eliminating at least part of the nitrites produced in step a, and a step c of extracting, from the reactor, a fraction of the sludge resulting from steps a and b. The invention also concerns a method for the biological treatment of nitrogen in wastewater, by nitritation/denitritation and/or deammonification, wherein the nitritation is implemented using the nitritation method according to the invention.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for detecting anomalies in a distribution network equipped with sensors. The steps are: acquiring for each sensor a time series of physical measurements separated by time intervals; defining time windows each corresponding to a plurality of successive time intervals; extracting operational characteristics of each time series in each time window; forming, for each time window, at least one current vector having for coordinates the operational characteristics, structural data relating to the network and situational characteristics specific to the time window; comparing the current vector with preceding vectors corresponding to preceding time windows and the situational characteristics and structural data of which are similar to those of the current vector; and signalling an anomaly in cases where the current vector is significantly dissimilar to the preceding vectors.

Abstract: A system for aerating a submerged membrane is provided. The system includes: a device for supplying compressed air; at least one orifice for aerating the submerged membrane; a pipe for feeding air from the air supplying device to the at least one aeration orifice; a first valve for opening or closing an orifice between the pipe and the surrounding air; a pressure sensor configured to measure the pressure in the pipe. The system is configured to perform at least one iteration of an operation to evacuate solid materials from the pipe, the said evacuation including at least: stopping supplying compressed air in the pipe and opening the first valve, causing reduction of the pressure in and penetration of liquid into the pipe; closing the first valve and resuming supplying compressed air in the pipe causing an increase in the pressure in and expulsion of liquid from the pipe through the at least one aeration orifice. The system is characterized in that it includes a processor configured to receive pressure measurements from the said pressure sensor that are performed during the said evacuation operation and to detect an anomaly of the aeration system on the basis of a comparison of the pressure measurements and at least one pressure threshold higher than or equal to the hydrostatic pressure of the column of liquid.

Abstract: A process for thermal cracking of a feedstock of plastic materials, in particular waste materials, includes the steps of melting the feedstock, conveying melted feedstock in a pyrolysis chamber where the melted feedstock is heated in a substantially oxygen purged environment, to convert it into pyrolysis gases, the process further comprising the steps of: driving pyrolysis gases from the pyrolysis chamber into a tray reflux column comprising a partial condenser at its upper extremity, returning pyrolysis gases condensed in the tray reflux column into the pyrolysis chamber, distilling pyrolysis gases exiting the partial condenser of the reflux column, to provide one or more fuel products.

Abstract: A hydraulic model of the network is used that describes the structural data and the laws governing the distributed flows. The model is fed with operational data relative to primary input parameters and, using the model, theoretical values are obtained for primary output parameters. The theoretical values are compared with measured values. In case of a significant deviation, the corresponding primary output parameter becomes a secondary input parameter in an inverse model including new secondary output parameters, which are added relative to the direct model and which correspond to primary input parameters. The secondary output parameters are, by priority, those to which the primary output parameter exhibiting the abnormal value is particularly sensitive. If necessary, the method is implemented iteratively by progressively restricting the number of the secondary output parameters.
