Abstract: 광전송 시스템의 전송 링크에 크게 영향을 받지 않고 사광파 혼합 현상을 보상할 수 있는 보상기에 관해 개시한다. 본 발명의 장치는 HNLF(Highly-Nonlinear Fiber) 등을 채용한 비선형단과 펌프 레이저 등을 채용한 펌프단을 이용하여, 장치에 인가되는 광신호들과 전송 링크에서 발생한 사광파 혼합 성분들의 파장을 변환시킬 뿐만 아니라 새로운 사광파 혼합 성분들을 발생시킨다. 이렇게 발생된 성분들은 기존의 전송링크에서 발생하여 보상기에서 파장이 변환된 사광파 혼합 성분들과 같은 파장을 가지지만 서로 반대의 위상을 가진다. 따라서, 두 종류의 성분들은 서로 상쇄되고 결국 사광파 혼합 현상에 의한 신호의 누화를 보상할 수 있게 된다. 본 발명의 사광파 혼합 보상기는 기존의 OPC와는 다르게 수신단 바로 앞에 사용될 수 있으므로 그 성능이 뛰어날 뿐 아니라 전송링크에서의 색분산이나 광신호 파워의 분포와 무관하다. 그러므로 기존의 OPC의 방법보다 훨씬 진보된 방법이라고 할 수 있다.

Abstract: An RSOA(Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifier)-based ONU(Optical Network Unit) system having improved transmission quality is provided to modulate a downlink signal into a Manchester format in ONUs using RSOAs as light sources of each subscriber, thereby remarkably improving transmission quality of a re-modulated uplink signal. ONUs(250) using RSOAs(254) as light sources of each subscriber use Manchester format for a modulation type of downlink signals delivered to each ONU from a CO(Central Office)(200). The ONUs are WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) PONs(Passive Optical Networks). The WDM PONs are in uni-directional structure or in bi-directional structure. An RN(Remote Node)(210) comprises a coupler(218) for distributing downlink signals, the third AWG(Arrayed Waveguide Grating)(220) for wavelength multiplexing, a circulator(222) for determining transmission paths of uplink/downlink signals, and the fourth AWG(224) for generating uplink signals.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An optical branch/coupler using one arrayed waveguide grating is provided to accommodate N optical signal channels, and to suppress the influence of crosstalk. CONSTITUTION: An arrayed waveguide grating(10) branches a multiplexed optical signal inputted through an input optical fiber into N connected ports, and multiplexes the optical signal inputted from N connection ports and then outputs it to an output optical fiber. N optical passive devices are connected to the N connection ports one by one, and branch the multiplexed optical signal into at least two outputs. And N optical switches receive inputs from at least two of the plurality of optical passive devices, and transfer the input to a channel receiver by selective switching, and transfer the optical signal received from a channel transmitter to the optical passive device. A fold back path is formed with one of two inputs of the optical switch and an optical passive device connected to the same.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for stabilizing multiwavelength for a wavelength division multiplexing optical communication system are provided to simultaneously stabilize lots of WDM channels through one control loop, and efficiently restrain frequency offset by using an FFT, thereby accurately and simultaneously stabilizing frequency of each laser. CONSTITUTION: A modulating element modulates output wavelength of transmitting lasers(22a,22b,...,22n) different from each other in wavelength. An optical distribution element(26a) distributes optical signals into two parts to stabilize wavelength of wavelength division multiplexed optical signals. An optical detection element(14a) detects one part of the distributed optical signals. An optical filtering element(24) filters wavelength division multiplexed optical signals in an optical frequency area. An optical detection element(14b) detects the other part of the distributed optical signals after passing through the optical filtering elements(14a,14b) to stabilize wavelength of the wavelength division multiplexed optical signals at each reference frequency. Calculation elements(16,20) calculate the detected optical signals for detecting the first differential signal of the optical filtering elements(14a,14b). An output element(18) performs predetermined output from the detected first differential signal to control the transmitting lasers(22a,22b,...,22n).

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for measuring an optical signal performance using the amplitude of a clock is provided to measure the optical signal performance such as the existence of a signal and an error rate obtained when receiving the signal by extracting a clock component of data from a transmitted optical signal and measuring a level of a clock amplitude. Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for monitoring a frequency and an optical output using a temperature-controlling etalon filter in a WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) optical transmission system is provided to use a solid etalon filter capable of controlling a temperature in the WDM optical transmission system, to monitor a frequency and an optical output of each channel.
